Nice pics. My grandparents retired to Pine Knoll Shores, NC, which is right by Morehead City on the coast.

The whole outer banks are like a big sand bar. We're always waiting for that one hurricane to devastate it, but it hasn't happened. As for now, it's like a paradise, but getting more & more crowded all the time.

We tend to stay away from the tourist areas as much as possible it's not our cup of tea. We enjoy the more secluded family type beaches

There are very narrow streches between the ocean and the sound that it's really amazing hasnt washed trough ( yet )
