We've been seriously contemplating blowing this fucking joint for a while, and I'm not talking about my husband's marijuana habit, although that will probably factor into our decision. If you know what I mean. Keep that in mind for later.

So what country should we move to? I can't be anywhere that's too cold, and Jersey can't be anywhere that's too hot. Ebony and Ivory my friends, living together in perfect harmony. We are progressive hippies (we shower though) so no fascist fucking countries. High tax rate is okay as long as it translates to social programs like universal health care and free education.

Proximity to the ocean is kind of important, but we'll take a big ass lake I GUESS.

English speaking is important too.

If you can only live in an English speaking part of the world, it's either the UK (too cold), Africa (some countries), Ausland (don't know 'bout the weather, immigration is a bitch) or some islands (probably too hot). Gibraltar is English-speaking and not too hot.

If you know other languages well enough to get a job then I'd probably say Spain (Barcelona ??). If you can get into the Big 4 they offer language courses if you relocate.

I won't pitch Belgium because it's not English-speaking per sé, but you might be able to get a job at one of the European institutions or one of the European headquarters of an international company. It can get cold here though and weed is condoned (not legalized but you won't get punished/arrested for small amounts). European institutions (Ireland is a part of Europe, England/Scotland are not), do have exams ever so often that would guarantee employment.
