Need help with router

I have a linksys router.(had it for a few years) My laptop is fast, but my desktop is slow. The other person using the desktop can hardly load any pages so I have to disconnect my router for them to use the internet. Do I have to mess with any settings to speed up the internet for the desktop. It only happens when I connect my router.

Imago	They're wirelessly connected to the router, correct? Try switching the channel to channel 11 for our network.
