well i don't want you to kiss me. i do brush my teeth btw. i am just stating the reason why people are not happy. they spend 24 hours thinking about other's faults. plus genitals aren't all about sex.

Well for me, poor oral hygiene could be indicative of poor hygiene in other number of other areas. If you can't be bothered to brush/take care of your teeth, maybe you can't be bothered to wash your hands, shower, wear clean clothes, or any number of things which I don't consider too attractive. shrug

Not saying one's teeth have to be perfect, but clean at least (and preferably no missing teeth). I definitely notice teeth on people. Honestly, it's one of the first things I notice--on everyone not just people I may be "interested" in. I am definitely very conscientious about mine as well (see yesterday's Dental Work thread for elaboration). I remember being in third grade and loving George Michael's teeth. lol I am definitely the type of girl who would say, "You have nice teeth!" to a guy! (In fact, I said it to someone quite recently.) lol

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to brush my teeth before going to bed. brushteeth

It wasn't an invite, just saying... if I have a standard, its not because I am judgmental or unhappy, its because I know what I want. A well groomed man is considered sexy.

UK dental care sucks. Infact UK health care sucks.

yeah, it's a trade-off sometimes though- when i went with someone from the UK for urgent care service here he was shocked that it was like $70 to just get a brief strep throat test. lol

that depends where you are in america. there are parts of america where people walk around with no teeth and severely diseased teeth and gums because they can't afford dental care.

at least the british have teeth. even if they are crooked and yellow teeth.

Well, in the UK, when it comes to health care, you can go private, so you get the choice. I cant afford private LOL. Our NHS is notoriously bad though.

As for our NHS teethcare (is that a word?), its not really free. You gotta pay for a checkup, but its no way near as much as if you went private. To have a filling, its probably about £300 privately, but under NHS, about £60. Not very accurate, but anyway, its a hell of alot cheaper. Problem now is not many NHS dentalcare left. Privitisation in the UK has been a problem ever since the horrible Maggie Thatcher.

You're right - health care professionals shouldn't have the option of making a decent living. They should just accept the lousy reimbursement rates and lack of respect afforded by the single payer system.

And it's all Margaret Thatcher's fault. rolleyes

lol

why hasn't that baby tooth come out?
you could always tie one end of a string around the tooth and then the other end around a door knob and then slam the door. that's what a lot of kids used to try back in the day. lol

I think teeth are important. Not that unnaturally crazily perfect as some Americans may have them, but you always notice people with nice natural teeth.

Maybe Thesexofit does not appreciate it, cause if English people really do not care, maybe he/she has not met anyone with real nice teeth to see the difference.

Teeth aren't primary, but I suppose they are somewhat important. Not only does a decent mouth present the image of a person who looks healthier and cares about themselves, but they are more inviting. Without being tasteless, folk in romantic arrangements do things with their mouths. Who the heck wants into the mouth of a person with all manner of bacterial growth, decay and varying stages of oral disease? shake And even if you're talking less intimate relationships, it's a matter of simple aesthetic comfort.

Teeth needn't be perfect, but it's nice when they look at least reasonably attended to.

Nicely said.

Because way back in colonial times, you could judge a healthy horse or a person by they're teeth. If teeth were srong and white the person/horse was in good health, if not they were sick and would not last long. smile
