NBA: Ron Artest to the Rockets

What better way to welcome back MuthaFunka than to start a thread about your 2009 NBA champions, the Houston Rockets!

razz

The Rockets got Ron Artest, and gave up basically nothing. It was Artest (and a couple throw-ins that won't make the team) for Bobby Jackson, next year's #1 and just-drafted Donte Green. In other words, we gave up no one from last year's core (but also gave up a potentially very good player in Green) for an All-Star that averaged 20/6 last year.

Tracy McGrady was unavailable for comment, because they couldn't get him off Cloud 9.

lol lol lol Good one!

And damn, I was hoping my Lakers would be able to get Headcase Artest. But what are they gonna do with Battier? Trade him? Go smallball and move him to PF? They have Scola, so I don't see that. Batts looks like trade bait.

Whatever the case, the Rockets got him for cheap, which proves what I've been saying to other Laker fans - No way in hell the Kings do business with their hated rival Lakers, no matter what the Lakers will offer.

But even still, the TMac streak will remain in tact! lol

It all depends on Yao & Tracy staying healthy. On the positive side, maybe Artest can make a man out of Yao.

That's the 2 key things. I don't see Yao and TMac staying healthy and Yao needs to grow a pair if they ever plan on winning a title.

It's a good trade for the rockets and tracy should get the rockets out
of the first round this year barring injuries to key players.
Watch out for my sixers this year baby. Elton Brand is in da house.
Don't laugh at my funk
