superspaceboy said: Quick Poll... If you saw this pic on your teenagers phone, and it was her or if you knew it was a friend of your teen daughter or son...what would you think? And how would you respond in both situations? What would you think if you found out your daughter put a pic like this up on her myspace? Or saw this was one of her friends? An AMAZING shut down of her personal life. Computer access GONE for 30 days (if not more). Cell Phone (if I ever got her one) gone for 30 days easily. Schedule reduced to School + Homework + Food + Sleep, nothing more for at least 30 days. Finally a 500 word paper on why what she did was wrong, to be presented to me and possibly her friends if she wants to see the light of day again... i think sarah silverman is funny too. i think that a lot of people who take offense at her comedy are only hearing what's being said on the surface. i think her humor is all about her subtext, and the subtext is usually a comment on the stupidity or absurdity of her surface comment. even if she piles it on a bit thick with the dark humor, i think she's got a great sense of satire.

Kathy Griffin is a piece of shit. I'm glad she got fired off "Hannah Montana". I'm not offended at all. Comedic genius? No. But good for a laugh? Absolutely. |

How old is 15 really? To me, if you're old enough to be sold, you are old enough to deal with everything that goes along with that. Celebrities are made fun of, especially when they are hypocrites. I think I owe you a beer for that one... that was HILARIOUS! A working class Hero is something to be ~ Lennon

It was something you said when you were in Detroit the first time - complaining that the bar we were at was lame because it wasn't a gay bar and then going to sleep in the car. My feelings were hurt because we were trying to show you a good time and I thought you were openly complaining about it. Later you told me you were joking - and things were ok after that - but, at the time, I had no idea. It just shows that what some people find funny, others don't.

First off, I would realize that she is a product of her environment and I would understand why she did what she did. This doesn't mean that I condone this type of thing but famous person or just some regular kid living at home - none of them are immune to what's around them 24/7. In no way would I call her a 'whore' or even say that I felt she was coming off as one. I would talk about how others may perceive her and why and I would talk about why she felt the need to give this perception. I would not punish her, I would talk to her and get directly from her an explanation as to why she is doing what she is doing.

What upsets me far more than what KG says about MC in a stand up comedy routine is the FACT that MC dares to take pics of herself and "release" them to the public. By "release" I mean they got out somehow, be it intentional or not. Nobody seems to raise a stink about "Where are her parents?" or "How dare she". Where is the outrage at a 15 year old pushing the limits of acting like a grown up? Where is the outrage at her parents for not putting an end to MC's behavior??? KG is famous for making outrageous comments in her act, not one person in either of the videos gasped in shock or booed or hissed. They knew what they were getting. Rodeo, I agree, to a certain extent, with the principle of your complaint; but I feel there is far more to be done than just complain about 1 D-lister... And yet, I think there is a HUGE difference between this pic, and that one that was on the magazine. Christian Zombie Vampires

Are people really shocked that a 15 year old is trying to be sexual? Does anyone here remember being 15?

Kathy does this shit often. I'd ignore it if it's something I'd be easily offended by and there ain't no chance in hell Kathy would get booed doing a comedy show, not unless she did a Kramer which she ain't done. [Edited 7/29/08 12:38pm]

I totally remember wanting to come off as sexy at that age. The difference is that now it's really, really easy to share pics and such like this. But I do think that times are different in terms of children being exposed to way more than you and I were exposed to as teens.
