It goes back to how men have traditionally been allowed more to express their (hetero)sexuality in terms of their own wants and needs, whereas women have been expected to express their sexuality in terms of what will please other people -namely men. Coupled with the fact that female homosexuality has largely been ignored compared to male homosexuality, the idea of two or more women together sexually is more socially acceptable than the idea of two or more men together sexually, because that's what would please straight men.

I can understand if you want to see those to actors together (even in the coustumes if your into that) but it certainly doesn't fit the movie, there was no sexuality or tension whatsoever between them in the film
