Sherri Shepherd's days on The View are numbered. . .

Yeah, I think we can officially start the countdown. I don't know what this chick was thinking when she made the following comments. disbelief

(and this one's for real, ya'll lol)

http://www.usmagazine.com...e-to-count

In the new issue of black Christian women's magazine Precious Times, The View's Sherri Shepherd reveals that her life was once so rough she didn't care if she died.

"My sister was heavy into drugs, and we would have to go and get her from crack houses," Shepherd, 41, says.

At the time, the stand-up comic — then a Jehovah's Witness – was "in a very physically abusive relationship," she said. "I was sleeping with a lot of guys and had more abortions than I would like to count." omfg

She said her self-esteem became so low, "I felt if someone killed me, it wouldn't even make a difference."

But after converting to Christianity, she said, "God showed me that it would make a difference."

(Shepherd has also said she relied on her faith to get through her split with husband Jeff Tarpley, father of their 3-year-old son. During their seven-year marriage, Tarpley cheated on her and got another woman pregnant.)

Still, Shepherd admitted it is tough talking religion on the popular ABC chat-fest. (She received criticism after she once remarked that ancient Greeks persecuted Christians, even though Christ hadn't been born yet.)

"Oh, sometimes I say, 'Lord, Juanita Bynum or Joyce Meyer would be so good at this table. They could lay hands on Barbara Walters and get her saved,'" she said. shake

"I ask the Lord, 'Why am I here?'" Shepherd added. "I have to trust God when He says, 'Because I said so.'"

Oh lawd! They addressed that yesterday lol . You can see clips from the View on their ABC homepage. They post the "Hot Topic" discussions there daily. I'm not too worried about Sherry and Barbara, though. It seems the mass media took bits and pieces and then twisted her sentences around a bit. Barbra had a cute comeback to hearing the news. But more crazy than this, did you see Whoopi and Elizabeth get into it last week? Lizzie got dismissive about the existance of racial predjudice in America just ONE time too many, and Whoopi, who is normally calm and Ms. Counterculture Live&LetLive, morphed into the stern black grandmother who came of age in the 1960's--- and took that child to task. Lizzie ended up crying like she had just had a SWITCH tooken to her behind!!!

Is JT her husband/ex-husband? If so then yes. She's been very vocal about the adultery in her marriage and how it hurt her, though as a Christian intially she wanted to work it out. Actually I'm not sure that she's divorced, although she is at the least legally separated. Her husband takes care of their toddler son during the week, and she flies to Californina each weekend to switch custody and take care of him.

They might've talked about it and laughed it off ON air but you KNOW Babs did NOT appreciate Sherri admitting to "more abortions than she can count" or suggesting that Babs needs hands laid on her to save her soul. There are some things that you a) need to keep in the damn family (why celebs feel the need to tell ALL is beyond me) and b) do NOT say about your boss when you're a newcomer with little power and she's one of the most powerful people in the media and axed your predecessor for smelling herself a bit too much. disbelief I'm just sayin. . .

I think it was a joke. Sherri even called her and told her what she said. I think Babs likes this controversy. It keeps people looking at the show. Besides, it looks like Wendy Williams may become a fierce competitor of The View in the Fall.

You think the more abortions than I can count comment OR the laying hands comment were a joke? If she was talking to People magazine or US maybe I'd buy that. But this interview was for a black Christian women's magazine Precious Times where Sherri is essentially testifying or witnessing so I think she meant it.

Unreal...it just shows how misinformed most Americans are. There are companies that hire white dudes with prison records and little education over brothers who have clean records and a degree, yet this dumb c-nt thinks racial prejudice is a thing of the past. F-cking people.

I wish The View's days were numbered.

Saw clips of this yesturday. I understand she called Barbara and told her what she said, and Barbara laughed. The whole having more abortions than she count comment could have been said differently, but then the ladies of The View said, if I remember correctly, they admired her for at least admitting her mistakes instead of playing holier than thou, like some folks do when they convert.

Ok, I'm not a christian so maybe I'm just ignorant, but how can anyone be a christian and have abortions? I'm all for abortion, but if one considers themselves a christian isn't it just a tad hypocritcal to have abortions?

Christians, just like any other group of people, don't all share the same values. I know quite a few people active in the Catholic church who are pro-choice.

In all honesty i think her statment about having more abortion than she can count bothers you more that it does Barbara.... These abortions took place in a time in her life when she was really reckless, She's older and wiser now and i believe she's just talking about how out of control she was at that time in her life.

lol It doesn't bother me at all. And I don't care how many abortions she had. I'm just commenting on how unwise it was to divulge this info considering where she works and who she works for. Also, she coulda been more tactful again in light of the fact that she works on a lighthearted morning talk show.

The abortions took place before she was "saved". She's said that several times on the show. Not to mention, she was a JW for most of her life.
