So one of my friends is a chronic weed smoker and is also hooked on World of Warcraft And this is having a massive effect on me and my other friends. Recently his been getting worse and worse. Example Last night we went to the movies (which he initiated the idea) and when we go to pick him up from his house his mum just says his not here and to top it all off he didn't have his phone on him. So we call his cousin who is more of a drug buddy to find out his ditched us to go smoke weed with him. This isn't the first time either.

When I emailed him at work this morning confronting him about it all he says he "forgot" that we organized the movies (which we had been talking about for the last week and all that day!) Which is a piss poor excuse if an excuse at all.

I have let him know my feelings on the matter (I myself was once just as bad as him but am no longer) and he realizes he has a problem but refuses to do anything about it. Even to the extent where he is pushing his friends away (which I also let him know) and that when he does get his shit together we might not be there for him.

Now I don't want to give up on him as his helped me through my toughest times but his just too stubborn to acknowledge that he needs to change. Hell I think his on the verge of being kicked out of home by his own mum! And if that happens I forsee him losing his job as well.

I know you can't force people to do things until they are ready but I think its getting beyond that point now where me and his family need to step in no matter the consequences.

If anyone else has had a similar situation help would be awesome Or just gimme your thoughts

My sister was exactly like that, but then one day she had a psychotic episode and stopped in her tracks. I doubt she would have otherwise.

yeah unfortunately thats the only way I see it going He has no self control at all which is really sad as in high school he was the who was so anti drugs....then he started hanging around with the wrong people after high school and that is how he is today

dont mean to sound harsh..but maybe he needs to get kicked out of the house?...maybe hes got it too good?
does he pay rent?...bills? car insurance..etc

at least he can hold down a job.

I also have a friend that smokes WAY too much...when im around her & she lights up..i make an excuse to leave...its not my scene any more.

i have a cousin that is into drugs pretty bad! and there doesn't seem to be anything that gets through to him! all of the family has tried. it's sad because he's got 2 little kids! i think alot of times people have to hit rock bottom before they change or give-up all together. it's ashame, but seems to be the case many times!

His got a chushy government job so he gets paid way too much and has nothing to spend it on besides computer games and weed..his mum one time tried to enforce rent but that lasted like 2 weeks....The only reason he can hold his job down is because its very simple all he does is sort mail and delivers it through the building, and compared to the people he works with (2 out of 5 of them are mentally disabled) he seems like a god.

I don't like wishing ill things on people but something bad needs to happen to him before he sees how its really affecting him.

Yeah him and his brothers just walk all over his mum, she did take a stand a few months ago when she found his stash and she just chucked it out, which caused him to go into a fit of rage to the extent where he punched a hole in the wall for no good reason.

His dad wouldn't care as he himself smokes weed, not to the extents he does but its still a problem with his dad so theres no support from that end

i think this is the craziest thread i've ever seen posted here, well besides that one muse started today.

This sounds like my ex...and sadly his ways cost him two beautiful daughters..and now a wonderful grandbaby. He is almost 40 and the most important things in his life seem to be his next bowl of weed or his next beer. I wish I could have found a way to make him see the damage drugs and drinking were doing to his life...but sadly it never happened.
