If I can't get an early check-in I'm going to have HOURS to kill. I was thinking about maybe stopping by, now I'll put it on my definite list, whether I get the early check-in or not!
It's a must see (for me, anyway). Every time I'm in Chicago I go there. Granted, I've not been in years, but I do. A few of my favorites are there... Nighthawks - Edward Hopper The Old Guitarist - Pablo Picasso. Seeing this one upclose is amazing, because you can see the outline of a different painting (a woman's face) underneath it.

And notice there are no strings in his guitar. Also---the Art Institute is suggested admission/pay what you wish so don't feel obliged to pay the prices listed. I love these paintings in their collection: René Magritte's Time Transfixed (Although it says it's not currently on display.) Archibold Motley's Nightlife And then there is the very famous American Gothic by Grant Wood.

The one thing I wasn't able to do when I was in Chicago: go to White Castle for lunch I love that place! We don't have any here on the West Coast.
