In all seriousness though, this guy is on mark!! Intelligent...reminds me a lot of Clinton in how he speaks the truth and not in sound bites. Democrats are making a big mistake by making Nancy Pelusi our Minority Leader...She is too liberal and an easy target for Republicans. Ford on the other hand realizes the major lack of focus within the party while Pelusi seems to think raising money and campaigning is all she needs to be an effective leader. Well, without a message...you have no campaign...Something we should have learned after last week, but she hasnt...and we will lose again.

btw: im seriously considering a run for California's 11 district Congressional Seat...This was my old political stomping ground and I just learned that while I live in the Bay Area (moved here three years ago), restructering has put my back in my old district..We keep electing a do nothing good ole boy named Richard Pombo..Ultra conservative who keeps getting re-elected cause of his affiliation with the agro boys...time for a change...in four years if he is still in office, im going for it..you all heard it here first...

I don't know enought about either Democrat(and i should) but you're right this guy's a hunk. But Pelosi is more liberal and i think the Democratic party needs to move farther to the left regardless of the current political climate. They've tried going with Clinton centrist policies and have lost. Now they need to move more left and bring the non-voting urban population back to the polls.

I think Ford should be minority leader, and you right, Nancy Pelusi is too liberal and she will be a easy target for republicans and conservative political pundits. I think Ford would be a great leader, if he get elected, which I doubt. Most of the liberal democrats in Washington don't show any leadership qualities, don't have a message, and they look like big pussies, and they look confused. The democratic party NEEDS leaders with real leadership and a clear message.
