I hate that Ebert's illness has left him unable to speak, so sad. I love Ebert One of them is Jeff Lyon's son. And the other is the son of director Joseph Mankiewicz, who directed some of my favorite movies: All About Eve and Ghost & Mrs. Muir. Roeper never did a thing for me, but Ebert literally shaped how I view movies. I grew up watching Siskel & Ebert, first when it was on PBS. He's a great film writer (he won the Pulitzer), and I miss watching his take on film. Roeper's a dull fanboy. I haven't watched the show in a year. Ebert was wise to trademark the Thumbs Up/Down, so Disney can't use it without his permission.

I always liked Siskel better than Ebert.

Too bad, I liked Roeper. But I knew something was wrong when they took away the "Two Thumbs Up." And Ebert was just not coming back. He's doing okay though, just not camera-ready. My Legacy
