My favorite Sophia episode of "The Golden Girls" was when she befriended that older gentlemen. I think he has Alzheimer's, and eventually had to move out of state to be put into a home. Very very touching episode! mushy

Or when Sophia would start telling a story with the words, "Picture it! Sicily! 1902!" lol What's funny is a good friend of mine does that when he's telling a story about what happened to him when he was younger. lol

Also, this show has made a reference to Prince in a couple of episodes.

I remember that show, so sad, and she was my favorite so wity and funny.
Psy is right there was mention of Prince in the show quite a few times and I remember Sophia listening to Prince on her walkman outside on their patio. She even called her daughter on the show "Pussycat"

She will be missed RIP rose

lol That was funny!! Cracked me up!

I'm watching "The Golden Girls" right now. I still can't believe that Estelle is gone! sad

I was just thinking, it would be awesome if the Lifetime Channel (which broadcasts "The Golden Girls") would have a marathon of the show, in Estelle's honor. That would be awesome, and so much better than some of those other movies/shows they have on there.

omfg I loved The Golden Girls when I was growing up. I made it a point to watch it every Saturday night and I loved Sophia the most. She always knew how to get at Bea, Betty and Rue and I would holler. I knew that she had Dementia and it's a brutal disease. My grandmother died of it in 2003 and it's hell. My prayers go out to Estelle's family and friends.

Thank you for being a friend pray rose

Okay, the show got on my nerves but my tv is on Lifetime while I work during the day from 9 am with Frasier until after Golden Girls goes off in the afternoon. I'm not really watching it but it's on and the only time I laugh is when Sophia does or says something funny. lol The other women are overacting too much for my taste but she was too funny. thumbs up! The other day they had an episode on when all the girls went on vacation and Sophia plotted to stay home alone. Next thing you know, she's inviting her Asian neighbor over with a salacious look on her face. I was like, "Sophia, you hussy!" lol

Yes my FAVORITE 'Golden Girl' has passed. cry She was
absolutely HILARIOUS as Sophia! Great actress! My favorite
thing (though there were many) was when Sophia was sitting
out back on the porch with headphones on singing 'Purple Rain!'
THAT was great!
lol
