yeah...she's a great girl, and her art had me all mushy ...but she was the first person to say "omg black people are the greatest!" or "i'm not really white, God just made a mistake"...

to be fair, she probably thought it was funny, but it's even worse that she couldnt understand why i wouldnt laugh at it...

we used to have alot of moments like that...

I kinda feel the same way when people say "Oh, I know some gay people. They are so much fun." I know people mean well but I kinda cringe.

That wouldn't even be hypersensitivity! It's not fucking cool to throw around slavery images like it's fucking fashion. And it's not a black person's job to educate every ignorant white person, either. This is why I totally understand some people of color's aversion to dating white people. It's not racism, it's a desire to have a relationship instead of having to be someone's hand-holding teacher.

nod Or social/sexual experiment.

i still walk atight line with this...i was stereotypically homophobic when i was an early teen, but even no when i hang out with gay guys or girls, i'm still very much aware that i have no idea what its like to have the world look at me "that" way...

even if i get a stare of my own as a black man

Good show also, but queer eye for the straight guy was just so funny. When they would first see a guy in his hot mess clothes, and they would figure out how to transform him...

True that. And I liked how the guys were usually doing it for the lady in their life and how emotional they'd all be when they did the reveal. mushy
