Chicago Suburb Bans Sagging Pants A Chicago suburb passed a law that bans sagging pants. Is this right? I think it's a pretty bad fashion, yes, but is it indecent? As long as they're wearing underwear, what's the big deal?

I don't think the law is constitutional and could be challenged as such.
Common decency is all that's needed to tell people they looks like idiots when they dress that way. |

Common decency is all that's needed to tell people they looks like idiots when they dress that way. I think the law will actually backfire. Now that the trend is "being persecuted" it's cooler. I agree it's not up to lawmakers, but the change must happen at a grassroots level, to inform those who sag that it looks silly, and that by pulling up your pants you would no longer need your arms as suspenders! And still you can wear a big ass rebel flag belt buckle anywhere you want.
I'm not saying that should be banned too, but why ban sagging pants? Of course, I don't want to see someone's ass or junk, but I think most people understand what decency is. To pass a blanket law like that just seems...odd.

http://www.wsmv.com/money...psp=news#- [Edited 7/21/08 13:21pm] [Edited 7/21/08 22:29pm] okay just this morning i saw a young man on the street holding up his pants. they were literally down around his knees and his entire ass and drawers were hanging out. he was crossing the street and he had to kind of . . .hobble because his pants were interfering with his ability to walk AND he thought he was cool

I think the law is one of those "they must be doing something else wrong" laws that allows the police to mess with a target group. My Legacy

That's it exactly. Pathetic. Who cares if people show 3 inches of underwear?
