Your favorite housework appliances Today, I bought a Hoover Tempo Widepath upright. My old Hoover still works but has less power and is just a basic upright. Finally broke down and bought this. It's great! The hose and attachments help with webs and blinds and baseboards. And it's really powerful.
It's turning into a housecleaning day... It's almost as good as my cordless screwdriver/drill.

The Kenmore Elite Trio refrigerator is my fave. The freezer is way too small but I love the aesthetics.
I don't keep a lot of food in there so it serves my needs, but MOST importantly, it's purty

What does "figures" means. . . (I know you are NOT insinuating that purchasing a frig based on looks is somehow impractical???? Have you seen my shoe threads?)

my liebherr counter depth fridge, its like the BMW of fridges- even built in Germany. if you think that kenmore is small, this one is super small with a 4000.00 price tag. but indeed it looks handsome in its space.
and my dyson vacuum | |

I have a full freezer in my utility room for actual food storage.

But I bought it cause it was the only thing that would fit into this niche in the kitchen. it fit seamlessly, after I had a plaster worker come and rip the top of the niche out to accommodate its height, its extra tall but very slim. its kind of scary looking like something in a morgue.

Sounds lovely. I've seen this really cool dishwasher on HGTV that I believe is also German and it's super expensive but it has the two separate drawers. I think it's gorgeous but I don't use my dishwasher at all. I think I've used it twice in 2 years. I actually broke the one in my last house because I didn't use it regularly. I keep forgetting to run this one regularly.

I just realized don't have sophisticated home appliances. I do have an obsession for kitchen gadgets though--I have all sort of weird do-dads in my kitchen: pasta maker, egg cooker, chocolate fountain, ice cream maker, chocolate candy maker, lots of french coffee presses and tea press thingies. The only interesting large appliance I have is my full size fridge (which has to be half the size of SCNDLS, but with the purty silver stuff happenin'!) Most people who live in flats do not do full size fridges here, they do those tiny half size things that are the size of the upper freezer compartment on US fridges. Folks like to go stare at my fridge and marvel how much crap I keep inside of it

Do you use all of those gadgets. Or do just buy them compulsively? I have a girlfriend that has to have every baking gadget she sees. She'll use it once and then it's resigned to the Gadget Graveyard.

I mean, my dishes don't require any special gadgets or utensils. Oh, on a side note, I had a BBQ for the 4th and made this hash brown casserole dish with sour cream, cheese, and lots of bacon and boy was it off da chain! I didn't even get a decent serving of it. I had to scrape the pan to get a taste. It was good though.

The Hoover Floormate:
When I bought my condo and had hardwoods and ceramic tile installed everywhere but the bedrooms, I decided I was getting too damn old to wash floors on my hands and knees. I love the Floormate. It gets the floors clean without leaving any residue (like the Swiffer floor cleaner does). It'll wet or dry vac a floor, too - which saves a lot of paper towels if you spill something. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Do you have to sweep BEFORE you use this? I have stained concrete floors on the entire first floor and it's LITERALLY backbreaking work to sweep all the floors then have to come back with a mop and bucket.

You can actually vacuum the floor with the Floormate before you use it to wet clean the floor. You really want to get the loose stuff up first. There's nothing worse than trying to suck up soggy crumbs and whatnot. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
