blahblah Yeah....uh huh!

What do you do when someone tries to talk to you any kind way? Huh! mad

As long as they're signing the checks and you don't have enough $$$ in the bank, you go through the proper channels to report the issues and start looking for a new job. Until then, you either tolerate it or quit. But you're supposed to take the high road and remain professional at all times. Success is the best revenge.

nod There are many ways to effectively tell an employer to kiss your ass without going there verbally. You don't burn bridges in the business world especially in my field because EVERYBODY knows someone that knows you.

EXACTLY.
Even if that's what i wanted to do, you never know who you'll have to work for/ask for a job for down the road.

You just don't do that.

falloff Alrighty, then. Well that approach has allowed me to get a former employer to pay for my Master's (whom I promptly quit on after getting my degree. See, that's an example of telling 'em to kiss your ass but keeping it professional wink ) work from home full-time for multiple clients, getting paid what I ask for, and setting my own hours. Good luck with that job search, partna. thumbs up! lol

If you behave that way...you will always be a slave of sorts. A wage slave.

Going to work with an attitude of entitlement and resentment is idiotic. Nobody wants to hire someone with a stank attitude like yours. And you'd best believe that - even if you manage to hide it - word gets around.

See Chris has also contacted the EEOC on his former employer to. He is a Black man who feels he was discriminated against as well.

I use employers for all I cant get out of them plus I do my job well and I am always looking to learn more. This is why I am my boss's fave clerk out of the other 4 and I don't abuse it. My hard work and willingness to step up to the plate or project when neede has gotten me alot of "special perks" off the book and away from work!!

She has my back and I have hers, we are the DYMAMIC DUO at work!!

This is the way it's supposed to be. You want to be your boss's ally - not an adversary.

I have a lot of former bosses - and, except for the very first (who was a pathological liar and psychopath), there isn't one who wouldn't give me an absolutely glowing recommendation.

My current boss is also a former boss. When she switched divisions at the company we work for, I begged her to take me with her. As soon as a position opened up, she did.

I started my new job this week. cool

Cool Gen!! See this is the 5th lay-off in my 7 yrs at this non-profit agency. She is always training me on something new so the more I know the less likely my head will be put on the chopping block!!

Other clerks have been here way longer than me and they don't want to learn nothing new or do a new prodecure!!!

Then they get mad because they say my boss favors me but she gave them the same chances she gives me and I take advatage of it!!!

I'm a black woman who's also been discriminated against in the workplace. I reported a former employer to the EEOC 13 years ago. Been there, done that. And although I had all my ducks in a row, my case went absolutely nowhere, because the burden of proof is ALWAYS on the employee. But if he had this attitude and REALLY did cuss folks out as he says he did, it sure isn't gonna help his case. shrug In the end, I learned from the experience and made sure no other employer took advantage of me again and that I got the most out of situation. Regardless, excellent interpersonal skills and attitude will get you farther in business than anything else, a lesson I learned early on.

Are you without any fault?

confuse Huh, what???? Where's that coming from? rolleyes What does me saying you need to have good interpersonal skills and a positive, professional attitude at work to get along translate to I have no faults???? Sure I have faults, who doesn't??? You just have learn to wear the mask and pick your battles if you wanna make it out the corporate game with your sanity and peace of mind. The sanity may be debatable depending on who you ask, BUT I've got peace of mind where my work is concerned and that shit is PRICELESS. shrug
