So when did it become ok to TALK ALL THE way through a film?

I went to see Kung Fu Panda last week on Friday and people, not just kids, but grown ups with kids, talked all the time. Why pay £8 to take your 5 year old to a half 8 showing of a film, then not watch it??
It's a mess, ain't it, sheriff?

It's NEVER okay to talk through a film. You're right, movies are too expensive nowadays to do that shit.

I blame it on the fact that more people watch movies at home these days. They think that because they can talk all the way through a film on DVD at home, it's okay to do it in the theatre.

These people are ninnies.
We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Oh, don't even get me started on how this pisses me off. I had to play parent to like 10 kids when i went to see Hellboy II last week and one fucking kid had the nerve to answer his cellphone during the movie, not once but TWICE. I got on the phone with his mother and cussed her out for having an idiot kid.

Once a friend and I were in a movie - I can't even remember what it was, but it was a slow-moving, dialogue-driven indie film - and there was only one other couple in the place. The were sitting in the row behind us at the aisle, we were in the center. The woman would not shut up. Super dramatic scenes and all, she was talking loud enough for us to hear every word she was saying. I finally got up, walked into her row and sat down next to her. She looked at me all pissed off, I asked her nicely to stop talking. She couldn't believe I'd have the audacity to request this of her and now said I was ruining the movie for her. I said, well, at least it's runied for all of us now and walked back to my seat.
She kept her mouth shut for the rest of it.

This one time me and my girl were watching this dialogue based indie-film. She kept asking me questions throughout the film, as quietly as she could, but loud enough so that I could hear her (I sometimes have trouble hearing).
About halfway through the film some really mean girl walks over and sits right beside my sweet sweet Petunia, and has the audacity to tell her to shut up. My girl explained to her that the mean girl who interrupted us was ruining our movie, and the mean girl said something to the affect that "well, that makes both of us" or something like that and walked over to the other side. It was a tiny private conversation between just the two of us!!!
My poor girl was so distraught she couldn't speak the rest of the night and silently cried to herself. It was her birthday.

I contemplated it for a second, but didn't want to ruin the film, turns out George Lucas did that anyway though...

This is why I hardly go to movies, because people have no f-cking common sense. The worst are these dumbass parents who bring babies to the theater, and of course the baby cries throughout the whole movie. That happened when I saw The Hulk last week. Folks yelled at her to take the baby outside, and she eventually did. Should've stayed her stupid ass home.

I generally do not go to the movies... I am cheap and would rather wait to see it at home in my comfy lounge.
