I just feel like I should be at the Renaissance Faire when I put on a pair of skinny jeans. The trend where kids wear their pants way down like past the ass, I don't get that. Is that supposed to be cool? I really feel like pulling them down sometimes and running away. Christian Zombie Vampires

Anxiety said: NDRU said: I just feel like I should be at the Renaissance Faire when I put on a pair of skinny jeans. well, don't get those super skinny emo geek jeans. those things ARE embarrassing, especially if you have no ass. but the levis skinny fit jeans are nice, snug and they're a little loose in the right places. it doesn't look like you're trying to be david lee roth. they just fit nicely if you happen to be a guy with skinny legs and no butt. the slim fit ones are good also, if your legs aren't quite skinny enough to fit in the skinny fit cut.

I really feel like pulling them down sometimes and running away. yeah, that is amazingly absurd! Less absurd (but only slightly) are the "shorts" that are so long that only one inch of your leg is exposed. I have actually seen shorts that came down to the person's shoes, and literally no part of their leg was exposed. How is that supposed to keep you cool? I think both of those stem from the admittedly good idea of not wearing pants & shorts too high & tight, and taking that idea way too far. My Legacy

As for emo kids wearing those skinny jeans with no ass walking around pulling them up literally every 10 seconds otherwise they'd be around their knees - I don't get it. It doesn't even look cool, it just looks like you're wearing children's clothes and it makes you walk funny. God forbid I ever see one of them having to run anywhere. [Edited 7/16/08 3:23am] OK...what the fuck is Emo? talk about clueless....I'm clueless! I tried to have someone explain this to me weeks ago, they didn't have an answer. I'm curious too - wtf does "Emo" even mean? I always think of that comedian Emo Phillips, but surely a trend wouldn't be set based on that mf I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! I only found out recently. Emo is short for Emotional. It's all that Indie Rock but for some reason it's supposed to be depressing and heartfelt. I dunno, all sounds the same to me.

I didn't even know what a blog was until last year. I even started a thread about it here a long time ao asking what it was, and of course no one responded. "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

anyway, i still don't understand what hannah montana was supposed to be all about. i mean, i know it was a tv show and that she was a character and that it's billy ray cyrus' daughter, but i don't understand how a tv character and the actress who plays her can go out on tour as two different people, and why anything from the loins of billy ray cyrus could possibly be as popular as she seems to be. see? best not to think about these things too much. i agree with you 100%!!!!!

Anti-Emo Riots in Mexico: ¡Pánico en el Disco! A torrent of anti-emo violence has swept through Mexico, leaving battered bodies and hateful rhetoric in its brutal wake. But why there? Why now? And when will it end? By Joseph Contreras 05.26.08 12:27 AM In our June issue, we chronicle the escalating violence inside Mexico against emo fans, there commonly referred to as "emos." The wave of thuggery made national headlines after hundreds of youths pummeled a handful of emos on March 7 in the central Mexican city of Querétaro's main plaza, resulting in three injuries and 28 arrests. Eight days later, dozens of self-styled punks, "darks" (goths), and skaters marched on a plaza in Mexico City where emos gather daily, and the ensuing war of words eventually deteriorated into a rock-hurling, bottle-throwing melee before police arrived. Similar disturbances erupted that month in the northern city of Durango, leaving two injured and 80 in police custody. http://spinmagazine.com/a...ots-mexico http://elmadartista.tumblr.com/ http://twitter.com/madartista
