curry cayenne grilled corn on the cob!

marinated portobello "burgers"!

marinated grilled asparagus!

veggie kabobs!

grilled faux chicken breasts!

The possibilities are endless.

I could list a bazillion salads and desserts, but I think you meant the grilled stuff.

lots of things!

boca makes really good veggie bratwursts and italian sausages, and they grill really well.

you can also grill a lot of veggie patties, like bocaburgers and fake chicken patties (they make an unbreaded variety which would work on the grill).

one of my favorite grillable items is good ol' corn on the cob. i wrap corn in foil with a bunch of butter and cayenne pepper inside, so when it comes off the grill it's completely buttered and spiced up and ready to eat.

you can also make lots of different kebabs that are completely veggie. just use a little bit of imagination.

that's because cookout advertising is ig'nernt.

there are several veggie cookout recipe books on the market. i'm sure they're easily amazon.com-able if you're interested. i even googled a few good resources for veg cookout ideas. there's quite a lot you can do. nod

Grilled Fruit Kabobs

Hummus with Grilled Pita Bread

Vegetarian baked Beans fixed the way you like em

Quorn makes incredible Meat Free Naked Chix Breast that just need a minute or so on each side. Add your favourite sauce or marinade and yummy.

Foil Packets of baby red potaotes, fresh zuchinni, mushrooms, sugar peas or any vegetables with just a light drizzle of very good olive oil. Season with your favourite seasonings and set on the grill until veggies are tender crisp.

veggie baked beans are a good suggestion.

and if people would quit putting ham and bacon bits in everything, even down to the pasta salads and side nibblies, there'd be TONS more that veggies could eat at a cookout. if the ham and bacon bits are so important, serve them on the side and let people stir them in. sheesh!

That's the truth! I had creamed spinach at a very high end restaurant and asked if it was meat free ~ they assured me it was ~ uh uh ~ big creepin chunks of some pork/ham kind of stuff in it. eeeeewwwww

Grilled veggies with bbq sauce drool

also my homemade fresh pico de gallo and guacmole went over really well

salads and kabobs are an easy solution as mentioned

also, I learned from my recent trip to the mid-west that corn is yummy when grilled in its husks (just be sure to soak them first, and remove loose ends)
If you will, so will I

my best friend is a fancypants chef and she swears there is a distinction between a BBQ and a cookout. she says you can only call it a BBQ if the centerpiece of the occasion involves barbecued foods. otherwise it is a cookout.

i don't really give a damn, so i just nod and smile when she goes off on this. nod

oh...I see...total vegan. That's hard. I tried it for awhile but had to go back to including fish, I wasn't getting my protein...and I'm not a huge legume/bean eater. Although I am thinking about ditching fish again - nothing's wild anymore, all farmed.

So yeah, throw out some more vegan recipes, especially for the BBQ.
