I guess I'm the only one who's never given much thought to the state of my hymen I've never really thought about mine, either - because really - who cares whether you have one or not? Besides, mine was gone for sure when I was 19 (through the customary means). And that was one hell of a looooong time ago. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I have never been afraid of tampons...I used both tampons and pads in my time. Proud Memaw to Seyhan Olivia Christine ,Zoey Cirilo Jaylee & Ellie Abigail Lillian

It seems like most of you use both tampons and pads. I don't want to spend extra money like that

yeah...but once you use tampons your pad usage drops considerably. It's been at least a year since the last time I bought pads. besides, when you use tampons you don't have to spend the day in a pool of your own menstual blood. ew. [Edited 7/13/08 20:49pm]

[Edited 7/13/08 20:49pm] ok, now you're exaggerating no i'm not. i used to think that it wasn't that bad until i started wearing tampons exclusively. then i realized that no matter how light your flow is, when you wear a pad you're spending the day in your own blood and sweat. it doesn't matter how many times you change it.

Started using them at 15 (a virgin) just a few months before TSS came to light, then stopped for a few years but went back because of the convenience. Now I always use them during the day, never at night, always with a pad the first 2 days.

I didn't realize that either. Even when my flow starts to lighten up, if I choose to wear a tampon there's gonna be a panty liner involved. There's always at least a spot of blood that escapes (with me), I don't wanna fuck up my drawz...

Interesting ...
The oldest printed medical document, papyrus ebers, refers to the use of soft papyrus tampons by Egyptian women in the fifteenth century B.C. Roman women used wool tampons. Women in ancient Japan fashioned tampons out of paper, held them in place with a bandage, and changed them 10 to 12 times a day. Traditional Hawaiian women used the furry part of a native fern called hapu'u; and grasses, mosses and other plants are still used by women in parts of Asia and Africa.
