Age Maturity & Wisdom

There will forever be people who insist that age = maturity and wisdom and therefor all older people must be so much more mature and far wiser than the younger arogant idiot chirldren that surround them ...
Well... odviously they have over looked the Old goats like myself who are no more mature or much wiser than we were at say 16 years of age ... And they have deffinatly over looked some of the twelve year olds I know of who are mature and wise enough not to go off on the idiot 40 year olds who think they have all the knowlage in the world simply because they have existed for so long and had so many experiances in that time ...
I'm a 34 year old child and I will not grow up ... If Growing up means becoming self righious judgemental and arrogant enough to beleave that my experiance alone gives me all the wisdom in the world I aint growing up and if ther's a 12 year old Grown up around who can teach me a few things I will remain open to learning from them ...
Now try to understand that if you can ...
Oh and for you spell checkers ...
Look up the word dyslexia ...Youll find my picture beside it in the dictionary

I think Prince should start his own airline and call it DoMeBaby airlines.

Sorry, I was just thinking out loud.

as one ages, they collect expieriences and find the things
they should know, and no matter whut they learn some gain
a certain safistication that comes off as being MATURE.
and then there is just the maturity of age.
one can gain knowlege and degrees of knowlege and still have no wisdom.
WISDOM is the ability to put KNOWLEGE to use.

While aging is usually assured, the accumulation of wisdom and the feeling of maturity don't occur for everyone. Added to that, our personalities (that feeling that you're the same person that you were when you were 12) generally don't change unless we're mentally ill.

I'm 40, and my present view of the world, may I call it maturity and wisdom, is vastly broadened by years of paying attention, asking questions, making mistakes, having my ideas challenged, etc. For me, there was no shortcut. It really has taken all 40 years to get to this place that I find myself.

Part of my version of maturity and wisdom is realizing just how much I DON'T know about things. Far from arrogance, I find that I'm more cautious in my judgements, more willing to consider other points of view, and more forgiving of others mistakes. I'm not sure that could have been taught to me in college. Come to think of it, college taught me a fraction of what I know today.

I will admit that you are absolutely right.I do lots of times too -no doubt- act silly or behave like a brat and am 31 yrs old. I had a hard life and didn't get to enjoy a good childhood. Now, I am a fun loving person who is young at heart still smile

At the same time young ones can be really mature and smart with a good head on their shoulders too.

Wisdom though is knowing when I am being this or that.Maturity is what one grows to become which takes time.

TheMax-I am diggin' your xplaination smile
