In the last 2 days I interviewed a man that kept yelling at me while he was naked in his cell. He was also jumping up and down IN the toilet.

I also interviewed a woman that has been accused of attempted murder. She tried to kill her adoptive parents by burning there house down while they slept.
She called my deputy a whore but she was nice to me.

It's hard but most of my clients are mentally ill. You have to take that into consideration. I actually have a knack for dealing with mentally ill people. I guess I just know how to talk to them. Sometimes they are too violent for me to talk to though.

Hey Natisse! Welcome back.

Ever since I was in 8th grade I dreamt of studying art and living in a cosmopolitan city. I initally thought I wanted to be a museum curator, but my first museum job made me realize I really enjoyed giving tours. So the past 5 years have included graduate school and 3 years at a job that, on paper, looks like it should be exactly what I've said I've wanted to do. But the reality is that I am absolutely miserable. sigh I think most of it is due to the people (specifically the management) and work environment. If I had the same job at a different museum it might be better, but who knows.

The bad thing is that when I think of trying to switch careers I honestly can't think of anything else I would be good at. And I have only worked in museums...so I know nothing about the for-profit world (sales, marketing, finance, etc.).

I think I am having a mid-life crisis. confused

I am doing what I love. I can't imagine myself doing something else. But I do have to set priorities cuz I tend to spend too much time working (or doing workrelated stuff like experimenting and studying).

peace

I don't know where your "here" is but charging is not the same as getting paid.
Or do you think the plummers salary is €60 times 40 hours a week times 4 weeks a month = €9600,-

Here = Belgium

My brother is a plumber working for himself ... I know enough abt economy to realize he doesn't get 60x40x4 lol there is travel time, costs and hours he doesn't work (let's not talk abt the late hours, weekends and other fun parts of the job. All things considered though, he earns abt as much as an average doctor but IT IS hard work. Earning a good pay is always hard work.

As much as an average doctor, huh... hmmm
I don't think that is the case here in The Netherlands though.

I agree that earning a good pay is always hard work.
My point is that there is a lot of hard work that is not such a good pay.

Look at Fire Fighters, Police, Health Care (thuiszorg, verpleegkundigen), the mail man.
All of them are undervalued over here.
