1) How did you deal with heartbreak the last time your heart was broken? How long did it take to heal, and what did you do?
I applied to graduate school, moved to New York, and after being sad and angry realized I had dodged a huge bullet. It took several years to get completely over it.

2) On your first date with someone, you realize that their family is going to be with you two during the dinner and movie portion of your date. Well, what the fuck do you do if they're fine as all hell? confused
Firstly, I wouldn't accept a first date that was dinner and a movie. I wouldn't go on the date if the fam was along, you'd have to be the "perfect" guy for me to do that.

3) If really pressed, do you think you could write a halfway decent book in one year's time? What would it be about most likely?
Yes. It would probably be about contemporary art.

4) The orger above you: What was the very first memory you have of them, or thing you noticed first?
At the time I am filling this out, Imago is the orger above me. lol I think my first memory was his penchant for photoshopping photos of other orgers (which is one reason I doesn't post my photo often).

5) What would you expec the orger below you to say about you if the could dwindle down your immensely complex life down to a simple statement? I know you're too self actualized and enlightenned to care about such drivel, but humor us. rolleyes
confuse I don't know who will post after me....I guess I will answer later.

6) If Anxiety decided to use your knees as a seat cushion for a few minutes what would you want him to wear?
Pants.

7) How do you normally deal with anger? How did you deal with it the last time you got angry?
Bitch and moan.

8) Are you more or less confrontational on these message boards than in real life?
I think about the same.
In real life are you articulate about your arguments?
I'd like to think so. I "argue" here the same way I do in real life.

9) Let's just say you miraculously have been given the ability to walk behind yourself each day and observe yourself from a 'third party' point of view… strictly as an observer. Would you cringe, laugh, or what?
Probably get bored and start observing someone else--I try not to draw attention to myself too much.

10) Let's just say you had the ability to follow your loved one (or current object of your fascination) around all day during their work day. What do you think you'd observe that may or may not be notable?
shrug

11) Other than Prince, describe your favorite musical act and any experiences you have in relation to that. Do you still feel the same way about this music that you did back when the earth was still cooling?
I love Sam Cooke's music, but I never saw him perform live. Not my favorite musical act, but other than Prince, my favorite concert was when I saw Pink Floyd perform outdoors at a football stadium. Very cool. I think I am less into music these days, although I've never been a true music junkie. shrug

12) Let's say you have a child (you may or may not), and at age 16 you discover they have been sexually active for some time. How would you go about dealing with this, and what attitude would you take towards the entire revelation?
I would hopefully have already had "the talk" with them, I would make sure they were on the pill (if female) and use condoms. I would hope they were having sex with a boyfriend or girlfriend, not slutting around. shrug

13) Describe the worst decorated house you've ever visited or been invited to. Just how disturbing was it?
It wasn't so much decoration, but I went to a professor's house and it was packed full (ceiling to floor) with books, papers, sculptures, etc. There was just a little pathway from room to room and no where to sit. It was awful. I hate clutter!

14) Your Christmas tree (or holidy decorations)--is it gaudy fun, elegant, or non-existent?
I don't do decorations -- for any holiday or occasion.

15) Describe your favorite item of clothing EVER.
Can't really think of one.

16) onenitealone is so wonderful, it breaks a motherfucker's heart (this is not a question).

17) What form of transportation scares you the most?
Bicycling.

18) If given a choice, which would you choose : a long mountain hike taking all day and exhuasting you, or bicycling along the seashore all day leaving you absolutely exhuasted, or dancing all night to music you absolutely hate but with friends you like.
confused Ugh, I hate nature so the first two are not appealing, but I also hate being forced to listen to music I hate. I think I'd choose the mountain hike.

19) What is your biggest fear (or any anxious emotion thereof) of the future? Is it something you can deal with or take steps to allievate?
I am really unhappy at my current job, so much so that it's affecting my health. I am planning to resign in a few weeks and may not have another job lined up. This makes me very anxious given the current economy. I have been looking for another job for several months, but haven't found one. sad

20) What was your favorite family pet? Describe it.
My first cat--a regular calico farm cat. I'm not really a pet person now, though.

sad hug shitty jobs suck. I was at the dentist this afternoon (which was far preferable to a day at work) and when I got home I checked my work email. I was supposed to meet with my supervisor tomorrow morning--our bi-weekly meeting. Now I see she has requested to move the meeting to Monday and invited the HR Director. I have no idea what I did this time, but I'm guessing I am going to get in trouble for something. sigh I am going to be stressing about it all weekend. neutral She is at least 8 1/2 months pregnant...I wish she'd just go into labor over the weekend so she'd be out of my hair for the next 3 months.

i think the fine art of personnel supervision has gone out the window and straight down the sewer.

i agree. my supervisor (the deputy director of the department) and the dept. director have to be two of the most horrible managers i have ever worked for. i get along with the director of hr and i know she really likes me, but it is not a good sign she is in the meeting. last time she was invited to one, it was not a good meeting. yesterday my supervisor comes up to me and says, "we're being audited. did you work 8 hours last thursday? i'm sure you did." i looked at my calendar--last thursday was july 3. I said, "i left at 4pm because you told the department we could all leave early." (everyone else in my department cut out by 2:30pm, i was the last one to leave.) i'll probably get reprimanded for 'falsifying my time sheet' or some bullshit, even though i was following her directions. sigh
