I was wondering what they did back then...years and years and years ago... I heard they had to wash it with their hands.

I heard it can be quite expensive in the long run though btw I don't think I like the idea of walking around with water balloon full of my fluids collected against my cervix I don't know. But the sponge looks interesting

Do you guys remember that contraceptive sponge? Well this Gynotex sponge reminds me of it. I hated the contraceptive sponge, it was a bitch to place in correctly and once I tried to remove it and tore the sponge, every time I reached in, I couldn't find the damned ribbon tab thingy, so I kept shredding it and pulling out piece by piece ... I had sponge confetti in my vajayjay! What a frekkin pain in the ass... literally.
I will not wear anything that's collect my blood so it can clot and build against my cervix, that's not for me... or the tantric positions I have to get into (throwing my legs all over the place, curled up, legs all open) and not to mention I'm usually gassy when I menstruate, so I don't want to fart in that position. LORD! Just give me my OB's and my overnight Kotex and I'm straight.

I used a diaphragm for a while before I had kids. I couldn't take the pill because of my migraines.
It worked great for me. It was a little tricky at first, but I got used to getting it in and out with ease. I wonder why you couldn't just use a diaphragm for your period? When I no longer had the need for feminine products I packaged some up and gave it to my girlfriends as gifts.

I just found some on ebay new package style but an exp date of 2010 so ... they've been available in canada again for a number of years. the problem was not with the materials but with the plant in new jersey or something like that. they would have had to change equipment in the facility to keep making them... and elected not to. the last time i used them i had a question however and called the 1 800 line and got a recorded message that they were in receivership. i googled just now and found they've been bought out. i like the sponge but i can't use them too close together or my hoohaa starts to complain

It happens, after being on the same pill for an extended period of time your body will naturally become tolerant, so usually your gyno will increase or change the dosage of hormones.
