This is on a 5 star scale. If a movie rates at least 2 stars with me then it's worth a rental. There aren't too many movies I regret watching.

As good as the segment with Cate Blanchett looks, and even though I'm a Dylan fan, I don't think I could bear watching that. I saw a clip - from the Blanchett segment - where a reporter calls Dylan on his bullshit. Is there much of that in the flick?

Is there much of that in the flick? the movie gets a little tedious in its first half hour or so...at first, you're playing along with the puzzle of how this is a movie about bob dylan and how these people are supposed to be representing him. certain aspects are easier to decode than others. for me, when the puzzle started to get really tiring and exasperating, cate blanchett's segments blew in like a gust of fresh air and kicked a second wind into the film. i thought her performance was a hoot, whether you know or like or care about dylan or not. i'm kinda "eh" about dylan myself, but in terms of a film about pop culture and the iconization of pop stars, i thought it was a really interesting meditation on a very famous (and famously cagey) figure.

I rarely go to the movie theater and when I do, it's usually the Film Form so the last two films I saw on the big screen were:
Louise Bourgeois: The Spider, The Mistress, and the Tangerine: Godard's Masculin Féminin: Last three dvds: The Thin Blue Line Le Cercle Rouge Superfly (The second star is only because of the soundtrack.) , [Edited 7/8/08 19:37pm]

16 Blocks - Fantastic movie, one I'd gladly watch again. Great plot, great ending and great acting. Loved it. 10/10 Assault on Precinct 13 - Not that good, enjoyable and Lawrence Fishburne was awesome. 6/10

Rambo 4 1/2 It was a good action film, straight to the point, no fucking around with useless story and pointless character building, some parts were a bit silly like the knock back that the guys take when being shot by the 50cal sniper rifle but still it was good fun Receiving transmission from David Bowie's nipple antenna. Scoop - awful Johanson, Allen's humor hit and miss. Even so, quite enjoyable. 2 of 5.
Irina Palm - wonderful, wonderful experience. 4 of 5. [/b] PS I Love you - hum. strange for a romantic comedy. Many weak, far fetched points in the story line. Yet still I did enjoy the movie... possibly solely because of Gerard Butler. 2 of 5 [Edited 7/10/08 1:20am] [Edited 7/10/08 1:23am] I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the dirt.
