Warning about a new computer virus: "Hallmark postcard" Don't ask why, but I just checked my work email and the IT department had sent the following warning:
We have reports that a nasty virus is masquerading as a postcard from Hallmark, and possibly other greeting card companies. See the notice below for more details.
Based on the report below, if you receive an email with a subject line containing POSTCARD and/or an attachment called “POSTCARD FROM HALLMARK”, DO NOT OPEN IT! Delete it immediately. This applies even if it comes from someone you know. The virus spreads itself by sending emails to people in a victim’s address book. This is a technique used to get you to open the email and attachments. Because it comes from someone you trust you don’t think it will harm you. Once you open the attachment, your PC is infected and the damage is done. I work for the federal government, so even though they may not know that much, I definitely don't think they sent us this warning as a hoax. Just thought I'd share...

You've been infected with the imago computer virus. Because I don't actually know how to code, this virus depends on the honor system. Please send this message to al of your friends, and proceed to deleting all the files on your hard drive. Thank you.
