If you were free from obligation and responsibility

Would you feel like a free spirit or just unwanted?

I think those of us who feel the least encumbered are still probably more loved than we're aware. "obligations" are subjective. I've no kids or spouse, but I do have a mortgage. lol and, the market's in the ditch, these days. If it weren't, I'd probably have pulled up stakes by now and headed for warmer climes.

which means I'm probably a bit of a free spirit, albeit occasionally stodgy. lol

I would like to be free for a while but I love my life, well mostly, and would pine to come back to everything and everyone.

If I were starting all over again, I would stay free from responsibility for a lot longer... I feel like I've been adult and responsible forever.

I've been pondering "a friend in need is a friend indeed" these last few weeks.
There is a person I am very happy to give to, but I am now worried somehow this is tying her up in some kind of feelings of obligation to return these favours. I don't want her to feel badly. I know she is grateful, she doesn't need to show me or thank me hundreds of times.
I read about the breakdowns of relationships between organ donors and recipients. Apparently it is way better for everyone if it is anonymous. The fact someone saved your life makes you feel you OWE them in a heavy way, and then grow to resent that fact.

I love being alone, but I also love being loved. I'd rather be loved than needed though.

i would feel like a free spirit for a while and then i would miss my kids.

i fantasise sometimes about where i would be if i had not stayed with my partner & had two kids. but the grass is always greener.
i am happy with my lot, just some days are harder than others.

I think I'm about as free from these things as one can be without being homeless. lol I love it! How much? I love, love, love dogs and have been tempted to get one, but I won't because it would curtail my freedom.

:hmm hmmm

obligation and responsibility allow me the times to experience freedom and to be free spirited ...

I always feel like a free spirit - one who chooses obligation and responsibility as part of my life thou one who allows herslef to totally take time off to embrace freedom

I think, for me to truely feel unwanted would have to come from something inside me. Me unwanting me, and not some outside force that I give power to that could make me think I was unwanted

I wouldn't know what the fuck to do with myself. I derive so much meaning and purpose from taking care of other people and performing what I've defined as my duties in life.

I've lived exactly that lifestyle for far too long (things have changed a lot recently) and I can honestly say that I've felt both. Definitely a freespirit, but then that's pretty much my personality anyway, but also sort of useless a lot of the time as well. lol

There are pros and cons to the responsibility-free lifestyle that's for sure. After a while, everything gets old.

Fauxie

I'm responsible for a bunch of people but I'm still a free spirit. I think it's a state of mind more than anything. I mean, I don't feel weighed down by obligations of anything. For example, when driving a car full of people around I can easily switch off and let my mind wander. smile
