My righteous rages are the best because I actually plan them out like performance art pieces. I don't get physically violent, but it's fire and brimstone all the way, baby. Not many people have been on the receiving end of my pure, unmitigated rage. I can usually let go of whatever it is that peeves me, or I can let it pass with a withering comment or a terse intervention. But when I give in to rage, it's kind of like I'm possessed by Donkey Kong and David Lee Roth at the same time. The part of my raging that I need to work on is letting it go quicker than I do after I am done screaming and yelling. After I rage, I seethe and sulk for a few days. That's no good. I should charge admission for the raging, though.

I think I've reached a point where my online debating and my real life debating are pretty much the same. In fact, I might err toward being more articulate in a real time debate, because we all know how useless 98% of internet debates can be.

I would make sure they were safe and healthy, first and foremost. That would be my primary concern. Once they got a clean bill of health from the doctor (I hope), then we'd talk shop. I would like to think that I would be able to take a sex-positive approach without actually sending a message of "hey, dad think's it's great for you to go out and have underage sex!" I wouldn't want my kids to be unduly afraid of sex, but I would want them to have a proper sense of perspective and good common sense.

We have two, because we come from two different family traditions and we each have a lifetime of ornaments which have their own memories. I lost a lot of my family ornaments in the past few years, but I still have enough for a small tree. I bought a big tree on clearance after last Christmas, and I want to make it mostly glass-blown ornaments. Sadly, we just adopted a cat this year who I am sure will make it his life's ambition to smash every single last glass ornament I have this winter.

I used to have a giant fat man's polyester button up shirt that was white with little blue flecky checky things patterned into it. It was thin and comfortable and it never wrinkled and you could bleed and spill ink all over it as much as you liked and it would never stain. I don't know how, but I lost it a long time ago. 1. I'm still not over the heartbreak. I'm over HIM, but not the pain he's caused or the way he's made me doubt myself. Right now I'm just trying to focus on my kids and myself.
