Was it any good.

My oldest daughter had me buy tix for her and her boyfriend to see Hancock tonight. I don't mind spoilers because I won't be seeing it until it comes on HBO or Cinemax (I'm normally not too hot on going to movie theaters)
I dug a big part of it but it got real dumb to me in the last half. I took my daughter and her two friends and they loved it.

man, two crappy movies in one week. I saw The Happening Friday night. sad

Baby - didn't you read the Yahoo reviews, or just about any OTHER review of that movie? NO ONE liked it!

I am done with M. Night Shamalama Ding Dong.

So I'm not the only one who didn't like that one either? lol

We got to the theater to see Indiana jones but it was sold out and the line for Angelina Jolie's latest looked like they were giving away government cheese so we opted to see this mess.

last time I was there was so long ago, it was when the surrealist exhibition came to the national gallery, so we art students roadtripped it there lol we saw Rod Quantock in the street doing some weird conga line with a megaphone.

Rod Quanwho? Is he some hippie you and your friends know razz A random conga line sounds fun. But I've seen more far out going ons here...not that they happen very often. For the Capital you would think we would have more attractions rather than being the Drug AND Porn capital of Australia lol

we deliberately avoided reading reviews of the happening, we were dying to see it, SHOULD have known something was up when: it was NOT on the No Free List, it was showing in the cinema that only has 7 rows hmmm
It was really NOT HAPPENING mad

I totally agree. lol

Overall, it was alright. shrug I'm not pissed I went to see it, but it wasn't fantastic by any stretch.

Finally saw Hancock tonight. I loved it! I saw the twist -- I mean, it was practically telegraphed. I thought the ending was great, and the moon thing was touching.

I dug it.

I dug it too. Didn't think it was nearly as bad as the reviews said. But I never listen to critics reviews anyway. If it's something I want to see, I'm going to go see it regardless of what folks say.

I saw it last night..... double feature with the Hulk. Hancock was pretty bad. Hulk was worse. I wanted to shoot myself in the face to make it stop.
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

I want to see Hulk but I also want to see Wanted. Not sure which one to see this afternoon. I'm thinking Wanted will be better. I'm hoping so.

At least I won't get sucked in to see The Love Guru. Sorry, Aces.

I haven't seen Hancock yet, but to be honest, there have been only a couple of movies out that I really wanted and felt the urge to see this summer. I really wanted to see Iron Man, and it was awesome thanks to Robert Downey Jr's performance. For some reason I wanted to see You Don't Mess With The Zohan, even though it looked silly and I don't normally go to see Adam Sandler movies. As for some of the other fare that has come out, I haven't been all that enthused to see it.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian - I didn't see TCON: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, so I guess I wasn't into the whole Narnia Chronicles stuff. Then again, I only went to see one of the Harry Potter movies in the theater, but I saw the whole Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - I was mildly interested in seeing this, but after I heard the mixed reviews, I thought I'd wait for the video.

Sex and the City - I didn't have HBO when the series originally ran on cable, and the basic cable episodes were too heavily edited for me to get into the series. That said, this screamed chick movie to me.

Kung Fu Panda - I'm sure this movie is quite entertaining, but it's also a family movie for the kids, of which I have neither of my own. Interestingly enough, the people who interpreted my dream about a panda told me to see this movie.

The Incredible Hulk - I saw The Hulk five years ago and hated it, so even though I thought this would be better, I didn't think it would be as good as Iron Man was.

The Happening - I saw the preview, and people were laughing at the end of it, so I though that this would be a turkey. Sure enough, all of the reviews confirmed my suspicions.

Get Smart - I remember watching the TV series, but despite all of the hype, I wasn't really feeling this movie.

The Love Guru - This just looked really dumb to begin with, and the reviews were brutal, especially since they said that the movie relied on a lot of bathroom humor.

Wall-E - I skipped this for the same reason I skipped Kung Fu Panda, even though it looks like an excellent movie.

Wanted - I was sick of the hype over Angelina Jolie, and it also looked like one of the really slick movies with stunning visuals and amazing special effects that was covering up a thin storyline.

Hancock - This looked like a good premise, but I heard a lot of bad reviews, particularly about how there is a plot twist halfway through the movie that makes it into a conventional superhero story.

Right now, the only movie I am really anxious to see is The Dark Knight. The last batman movie was excellent, and I heard that Heath Ledger gave an absolutely brilliant performance in his final film.

I would give it a B or B+. The FX were a bit much (though justified in some cases). That said, there are many points in the movie where I felt TOTALLY vindicated by Hancock's motives.) There's definitely sequel room. But I think 'asshole' is now my favorite cuss word because of the movie.
