nothing is ever worth checking out, find a therapist (def not the org) and TALK. Things can always improve, and people love you.

I was able to get her number from her. I spoke to her for about 16 minutes and went over her situation. She is very upset and was reaching out. I contacted the Suicide Prevention Resource Center (1-800-273-TALK (8255).), and they suggested I contact the local authorities with the information I was given. I have done so, and the police promised to check on her. The police have my number and will update me on the situation.

Thanks to all of you who took this thread seriously, notified us, and reached out to her, I know it meant a lot to her, and she mentioned that this community is special to her.

I have only just seen this thread, but I just wanted to add that I'm here if you need to talk things through, and to applaud you for opening up and allowing others into your life rather than doing anything rash.

Having had two friends who committed suicide, and knowing a third lady whose son did, I can tell you that I often think of what they've missed in life. Neither of my friends had problems which seemed huge to those of us involved in their lives but they just got "overwhelmed" by life itself I think, and they didn't reach out or ask for help - it just happened, which was difficult for everyone to deal with. It's so sad to think of all the things they've missed.

Thanks for having the courage to stay with us. I hope that now you've asked for help that it will be forthcoming and that each day will be a little easier for you.

It's tempting to chalk these things up to simple grasps at attention. But even if they are, sometimes people -- adults as well as children -- need attention, support and intervention.

June7 did a great job here, and I'm glad he was on solo mod patrol this early morning. (Well, it's still early on the West Coast, anyway.)
