no. as the Death Star is a man-made creation, Galactus would have no interest in eating it. you see, Galactus "eats planets" to destroy the space-roaming race known as the Celestials who implant planets with their seed. he's interested in eating planets to kill Celestials, not because he's hungry.

Could a blast from the Death Star destroy Galactus ?

no. only the ultimate nullifier can destroy Galactus

Haha "Star Wars Vs. Marvel/DC topic" I think that's the only combination that HASN'T been made into a video game at some point.

My money goes on DC for Batman, you know he kick ass. He could team up with Wolverine and storm the Death Starr, Force or no Force dammit!

Ian, you're usually full of crap but today I find myself nodding in agreement with your post. Batman kicked some serious ass recently by beating the shit out of Superman - for the second time running (Batman is the only character who can make Superman look like a pussy)

Let it be said that Frank Miller is a genius (even though he can't draw to save his life)

"Full of crap"? You cheeky [Snip razz]!! razz

Frank Miller is brilliant, I loved Dark Knight Returns. I really liked Bisley's art in Arkham Asylum though... and I really enjoyed the old "Legends of the Dark Knight" comics.

It breaks my heart seeing those last few Batman movies...

You make a lot of sense. It was precisely those last few Batman movies that prompted my short but vitriolic letter to Empire magazine, which they printed.

Basically I advocated for Joel Schumacher to burn in Hell for all eternity.

Miller is highly overrated. Today, anyway. His art has really gone downhill. I didn't find DK1 or DK2 very good as stories either.

Empire disappointed me, though, when they implied that J. Schumacher did not deserve my vitriol and, furthermore, may have been spared eternal damnation by virtue of the fact that the arsewipe had recently given them a really good interview. So much for objectivity on their part, huh!...

In that case, I'm curious to find out exactly what constitutes your definition of a good story.

Dark Phoenix
Watchmen
From Hell
Days Of Future Past
God Loves, Man Kills

etc...

the DK stories were way too all over the place, in plot.

for example... they could have cut out all that BS about the street gang in the first one and made it a much better story. i think. it's been a very long time since I read it. or perhaps it was another subplot that I'm thinking of. i remember, however, there was a lot going on that really was useless when you got to the end.

That's the name I was looking for, Alan Moore.

Ah I'd love to read Watchmen again, it's been a long time.

Didn't I hear years ago that Halo Jones was being made into a movie?

Okay, to the topic at hand. Aaron is quite correct when he says that Galactus wouldn't eat the death star, since there is nothing organic about it. This is the same reason he would never eat Apokalyps.

Aarron is also correct in saying that the ultimate Nullifier is the only force known that can take out the big G. That isn't to say, however, that a Death Star blast couldn't hurt him. More than likely, Galactus would probably try to find some way to appropriate the Empire's "primitive" weapon, so he could use it to his own nefarious plans. Maybe he would try to recruit Vader as his herald, since he would definitely want to make use of the Force.

Ahhh, yes! Batman would give Palpatine and Vader a run for their money! First off, Bats would do his usual detecting, finding out what strengths and weeknesses the Death Star has. Next, he would find out all he could about the rebellion, and make sure that he got the plans to them (this is assuming, of course, that he couldn't find any way to blow it up himself, and that the JLA were not available).
Batman would probably even do all he could to find out the fate of the remaining Jedi (Obi-Wan and Yoda), and seek them out. If he had force potential himself, then he would undergo the training, just so he'd be prepared to face Vader and the Emporer. He'd probably build some sort of device that would incapacitate Vader's suit, thus removing him from the equation. When it came time for the final confrontation with palpatine, Bats would show up with all the rebels he could muster, and his new apprentice/Robin, Luke Skywalker. After kicking Palpatine's crusty butt, he'd start a New Jedi Order, making them the sword of justice for the Star Wars galaxy!

As for Wolverine, he'd do great against Stormtroopers, and he'd even even put the hurt on Vader, somewhat. Unfortunately, once he went against Palpatine, it would be all over. The Emporer's force lightning would incapacitate him for just a bit, but he'd be down just long enough for the Sith lord to learn about his healing factor. Palpatine and Vader would use the full power of their combined abilities to knock Wolvie out long enough to get him in chains. After that, poor Logan would be the subject of The Empire's cruel experiments, since the Emporer and Vader would want to know all they could about his regenerative abilities.

One last thing:

Aaron, I totally disagree about The Dark Knight Returns not being a good story, but I completely agree with you about DK2.

DK2 seemed like a rush job, all the way around. The story was mediocre, the characterizations were off (especially Dick Grayson. That character in DK2 was NOT Dick Grayson), and the art was craptacular. The whole thing with Dick being the Joker was not only implausible, but a huge ripoff of Batman Beyond: Return Of The Joker (oh, I know it was Tim Drake in that story, but its still close enough to make me raise an eyebrow at Mr. Miller). I only enjoyed the first issue, which was really just a re-hash of the last act of DK1. it was such a dissapointnment, to wait so long and have it be so lame. It just makes me happy that Moore and Gibbons absolutely refuse to do a Watchmen 2!

These topics are fun! C'mon! I want more of these wonderfully geeky scenarios! I'd rather discuss whether Spider-Man could kick Spock's ass anyday, than debate about whether or not we should attack Iraq!

Probably Drac, but you should throw in the Wolf Man, just for good measure!
