I've always wanted one. But always thought they were something older women wore. I never felt old enough or, well, maybe sophisticated enough to wear one.

But I'm 33 now! I can buy one!!! And not feel like I'm pretending to be somthing I'm not.

I'm headed up to northern Minnesota tomorrow after work to spend a few days with my parents and my brother and his family. They've rented a huge cabin on a lake for the week. They've got a boat for us as well. I'm going to lounge on the beach and go hiking through virgin forests that are older than sin and possibly do some berry picking. And the Judy Garland museum is just in town (the cabin is just outside of the town that was her birthplace).



So I'm going shopping for a really big sun hat today!

Sunhats are great. Very chic, and a great way to cover your hair if you don't feel like washing it only to sweat it out sitting in the sun. It'll preserve your hair color, keep you from burning your part in the sun, and give you some shade.

I like to wrap my head in a scarf and then put on the hat. That way, your hair stays covered even if you take the hat off.

a white one and a straw-colored one...

I never felt you had to be old to wear one though

Sometimes if I want to be more casual though, I still opt
for a nice baseball cap.... I still have one from NPGMC days

I wear huge hats when I'm in the sun for a long time. People always look at me too. But what does a baseball cap accomplish, except make me look like every other guy?

But baseball caps don't protect your ears & the back of your neck. With a big hat I get a lot more protection. But so few people wear them I get comments & looks all the time.
