I just RSVP'd for a space shuttle launch

STS-125 in October. And it's a NIGHT LAUNCH - 1:25 AM is the launch time!

Words cannot express how incredibly GEEKED I am right now!!!!!

(Hopefully, exclamation points will!)

lol I seriously thought you were going. But it's cool you're going to the launch. So does that mean you're in the control room or something? Details!

Good luck to your friend.

Mike thanks you for your well wishes!

Thanks, but no, I will not be in the control room. I actually thought about applying to be an astronaut this year, but I don't have the requisite mathematics degree, and I doubt I'd be any good, any way.

But I just got invited to ANOTHER launch - STS-126, in November. I'm going to that one, too. And it has TWO friends on it:

Shane Kimbrough (the Mission Specialist, and one of only 19 Army astronauts. Also, he's the one that invited me):

And Chris Ferguson, the Commander (another friend, and his son and my son are buddies):

There are not enough exclamation points to express my stoked-ness!!!!
