Ladies: Have Any Of You Tried The Bare Minerals Makeup?

Just wondering if they're as great as the commercials say they are. The ads make it sound like this makeup is the greatest thing ever invented. Just wondering if this is just a way for people to buy their products, or if it is, in fact, true.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

My best friend uses it and lives by it. It ain't cheap, but she said she'll never go back. And honestly, it looks great on her. Her skin looks flawless and you barely have to use any.

But no makeup's worth that kind of dough, in my opinion. I'm in the minority, surely. The stuff's very popular.
Oh shit, my hat done fell off

I'm with you, I don't like to spend a lot of money on makeup. I figured that Bare Minerals was probably kinda on the pricey side. smile

Both my mom and ex-bitchinlaw tried it and both loved it. They didn't stick with it because of the cost.

I've never tried it. I barely wear any makeup on my face. I feel like I'm smothering if I do. lol

lol @ ex-bitchinlaw. I don't wear much makeup myself. Guess I kind of like "the natural" look.

Oh god. I hate her. She did me so wrong. Long story and not for this thread. But yes...bitch suits her to a T and I don't call anyone that. I don't dislike anyone else that much.

I like the natural look too. But I'm sure they make some natural looking stuff. I thought I just saw the stuff in Target, but I'm not sure. hmmm

I've used, it made my skin really itchy, I think its the talc in it. I need a lot of coverage and this makeup just didn't do it for me so I went back to MAC .
It does give a nice glow to the skin, first time I put it on people noticed a difference

Oh hell no. I've wanted to try it for a while, but my skin is super sensitive, so I'm not even gonna mess with this. shake

I hardly ever wear makeup though. And that Bare Minerals stuff is kinda expensive. Fuck that. lol

Glad you told me that, since my skin is very sensitive. I would hate to spend the money on this stuff, then find out that I was allergic to it.

It's supposed to cover up any flaws (red marks, pimples, blotchiness) on your face.

According to my friend (and a rolleyes at that), it's cheapest to buy direct from their website. Not sure if she's right, but considering the price, it's probably best to avoid paying a markup price.

Then again, if they're on clearance or something, you might pay less.

In conclusion, this post is useless. wave

Actually I'm referring to my ex sister-in-law. The in-laws thankfully were nice.

No it's not a useless post. comfort The ad I keep seeing on TV says that it's 70% off the regular price, if you order it online.

Mach

I have the sheer cover powders

I do not wear makeup a lot and like more natural coverage

I like it when my skin is in balance

I bought some small sample sizes 1st to try it ( e-bay )

I bought Clinique foundation as well recently and like that when my skin is in it dry phases ( it costs more tough )

I prefer the sheer cover mineral powders overall

Most companies have mineral make up now. So, why not try some of those if you want? They aren't as expensive as the "Bare Escentuals".

nod If you notice, the spelling is a bit different. Instead of it being spelled "Essentials", it's spelled "Escentuals ". Must be Target's own "version" of the Bare Essentials makeup. biggrin

Buying sample sizes is a great idea. That way, if you find you don't like it, you won't waste as much of it.

Oh snap! redface

I'm not up on the make up. I am 99.9% of the time a drug store girl. I wear mascara, and concealer under my eyes, and light loose powder. So, I'm not the best person to ask.

lol
