Had my first drive with my dad yesterday!

Yeah, as the title said, my dad FINALLY let me in his car to drive to the local supermarket about twenty minutes away. We went round three busy roundabouts and he said I handled it well. I was sooo nervous! My dad kept gpoing "stop speeding, ten and two, brake!"

Ive been having lessons for nearly a year and my test is three weeks on tuesday, so Dad realised Im ready to drive his car and I did it perfect cool Just wanted to have a little brag haha

anyone remember their first drive with their folks and not the driving instructor?

My dad gave me my first driving lesson when I was 12 on Formby beach. I can also remember driving from there back to London on the motorway a few times (around 300 miles) when I was young (I don't want to say how young because I don't want to get arrested).

I don't condone it but it was cool to learn to drive at such a young age. I eventually had lessons when I was 17 with a driving instructor but I think I leant more from my dad.

My mom took me driving at the local park. She white knuckled the handle of her door the whole time! She made me so nervous. I believe I'm a nervous driver now because of that experience.

I think I had my first drive with my dad when I was 17. hmmm We started off at my high school parking lot and then once, I got the hang of it, we moved out into the streets surrounding it. My father wouldn't really give me much direction and when he wanted me to turn, he would wait until the last minute to tell me neutral and then he'd yell at me when I'd miss the turns that he wanted me to make mad We argued the whole time. lol He tried to teach me to drive with his stupid ass van, which my driving instructor later told me was a bad idea. biggrin

That's great. I hope you enjoy everything you do with your mom and dad. The time spent with parents is precious.

lol as with everything my mother is a jem. on the half hour highway drive into town my first few times i would be driving along only to notice i was speeding. ok, so slow down. further down the road i would realize i was going incredibly slow. ok, so speed up. too fast. too slow. you get the gist. all the while my mother said nothing and let me sort it out myself. eventually i found my pedal foot thumbs up! i look back on it now and wonder how she had so much patience. i would have been annoyed to the extreme lol
