Question: Going to see a popular band perform at a County Fair..?

I'm going to see Huey Lewis and the News perform at some county fair in a few months. I read an article about the show in some local paper. They people at the fair are expecting big crowds because of Huey and the News. That being said, does anyone think if I arrived early enough (show starts at 9pm) I could meet Huey? That would be pretty cool.

I've never seen a band (as mainstream as Huey Lewis and The News) perform at a fair type atmosphere before. Is it hard to interact with the band? Are the crowds big or do people just mainly walk around and enjoy the rides?

I mean because I'm saying..it is a fair - so won't a lot of people be doing other stuff? In my head I'm picturing like people running up to that area for the big hits, then walking away.

Anyone who has ever been to this type of a concert - please let me know sorta what to expect. (And hopefully if I can meet Huey Lewis lol) biggrin

Lots of jebs with beer bellies and muscle shirts eating corn-on-the-cob, funnel cakes, and corn dogs.

The warm beer is delicious. nod

Sorry about Huey Lewis and the News though. comfort

People show up pretty early. I think you'll have better chance meeting him after the show though. Lots of these guys like to schmooze with their audience later in the evening.

I was just getting down to "Heart of Rock n Roll" in my car today. redface

I love fairs biggrin

Yes, you just might get to talk to them if you go early and get up front while they're waiting to go on. But your best bet is to wait until after and see if they have a "meet and greet".Take something for them to sign and a pen if you want autographs.

Oh, and take a camera too. You might get some good pics. You never know if you don't try. biggrin
