Do U get offended when people.... Do u get offended when people(who know English) talk in another language around U?
I work at a place that has a lot of different Nationalities. The thing that bothers me is when I'm in a room with people who know English...choose to speak in another Language. It's no big deal, but it seems kinda rude sometimes. Especially when there's a bunch of laughing going on. U never know if they're talking about U. Am I the only one that is bothered by this??

It bothers me as well like they are talking about me with me sitting there. It happens a lot with Spanish speaking people when I'm on the bus or train. For whatever reason, they assume we all don't speak or understand Spanish and I do. I work at a place that has a lot of different Nationalities. I've been doing it to brush up on my Spanish. I will say a few things and conversate in the language to a native speaker and she really helps me out.
I'm trying to be so un fireable it's insane. But I think it's fun. Learning a new language is fun too. Ask them a few definitions of words n stuff. It may stop u from feeling left out.

It doesn't bother me. If someone is not brave enough to say it to my face, then I don't give a rats ass. I got better things to do than to worry if somone is talking about me in a language I can't understand. "Always blessings, never losses......"

it only bothered me when i worked in a store and tourists would come in trying to ask me questions in other languages, and get frustrated when i had no idea what they were trying to ask me.
it didn't help that my job was selling fine arts painting mediums, which isn't exactly a universal language to begin with.

From my experience I think that when folks do that it's really only because they're more comfortable speaking in their native language. I don't think it has anything to do with trying to make someone else uncomfortable. It would be different if you invited a few people out to lunch and they all started conversing in a language you didn't understand, but if it's just around work or whereever then I'd bet that was the reason.
It doesn't bother me. Just makes me wish I could speak another language. Damn American schools.

She would speak louder and louder til you said yes or your head exploded Oh and it doesn't bother me at all. a couple of times i had to just end up putting a big bottle of lascaux painting medium in their hands. it was the most expensive painting medium we sold and it came in a sexy looking bottle. i never got any return complaints!
