Do you ever feel just fine but want to be treated like you're sick anyway?

Seriously.

I would love to spend a day or two confined to bed in my favorite pyjamas, with a stack of DVDs on one side of me and a stack of comic books on the other side, and I would have a full glass of 7-Up at all times and I'd get my temperature taken (ORALLY, thank you) at least once an hour and they'd look at the thermometer and say "ohhh, you poor thing" even if my temp is normal, and the blinds would be drawn and I'd get to sleep wearing an ice mask.

I feel just fine for the most part, but this sounds heavenly. Better than a vacation, really.

Ya know?

Oh, and I want one a them little bells for when I have needs, I can ring it.

In my younger days (around the time I was drunkenly collecting things from the street to decorate my home) I would daydream about the most perfect thing I could think of

which if I got the need for fizzy coke gummies, could drive me to the shops and I need not even get up!

YES! I loved it when people fussed over me after having my breast reduction. I had people bringing me my favorite flavored coffee and dinner. It was great. Then I had to go back to work the next week and it was all over. sad

Not really. I think I have the same routine you do when I'm sick--that is, no matter how sick I am, I make it to a comic book store and buy a bunch of things and I get a bunch of DVDs. I also make myself homemade chicken noodle soup. But I really, really hate to have other people around when I'm sick. I just want to be left alone!

nod I recovered quickly and felt very little pain. I only used about 1/4 of my pain meds and that's only because my doctor told me to keep on top of the pain. The only pain I had was the first time I took the bandage off and gravity started pulling on my scars. That went away fast.

I could have taken 2 weeks off work but didn't want to because I didn't want to take advantage of my company. I so wished I would have though because I was so tired more than anything. It's tiring sitting on your ass for a week straight. lol

I'm totally with you.

I was once admitted to the hospital for 2-3 days for respiratory problems, and it was absolutely wonderful! Nothing but food, sleep, books, perfect quiet and... oxygen drool... all at my whim. If I had a wireless internet signal, I'd have considered feigning near death indefinitely. nod

I miss my old boobs, I don't miss the back pain they gave me. It's kind of funny, when I had my DD's I didn't like the way they looked naked but I loved the way they looked in clothes. Now that I have my C's, I love the way they look naked but don't like the way they look in clothes. I guess you don't always get what you want. I wear the airbags to give them shape more than anything.

I am happy I had the surgery and have no regrets.

actually, i'm kind of like that too. but i would like it if someone else brought me my 7-Up and occasionally dropped in to tell me how brave I am and how concerned they are about me. i don't need anyone to actually HANG OUT with me during my sickation.

I chickened out of the surgery twice now. I don't think I will ever get it done now.

i guess if i developed a drug problem i could lay around and be sick and get taken care of for a while, but that's so messy and embarrassing and it saps all the energy right out of a person and it's horrible for the skin.

can't i just plead frailty?

does one need to be a medical professional to administer them to other people? or would a short course and certificate be OK?

would it be wrong if i said i would endure a daily...well, make that weekly...enema if i got to lay in bed reading comic books and drinking 7-Up all day with everyone sending me cards with dangling kitties and "hang in there" on the front?

all that's worth a tube up the chute once or twice a week. i deal with much worse things at my job.
