OK...I went to the DMV to get a Virginia Driver's license. This is the 4th trip I've made there.

They require a bunch of "proof" that you are who you say you are and you live where you say you live before they'll give you a license.

Each time I go they tell me I need some other document.

Today I go and now they don't believe that my bank statement that arrived in the mail yesterday is really from the mail. They think I printed it off the computer. They asked if I had the envelope it came in. WTF? Uh...sure, I'll go fetch it from the trash you morons.

I hate being an adult.

Oh man, I had a shitty experience at my dvm last summer.

I had to renew my license, which had expired, and they told me that in order to renew my license I had to show a valid proof of my birthdate and current address. They would not except my health card - which had both.

I was told that a valid drivers license would work.

Um...hello.

Fucking idiots.

Today the woman says don't I have a pay stub. AFTER I just got through telling her I had just moved here from Mississippi.


Then she says that she was going to use a cancelled check from my bank statement, but that it had my old address on it.


Yep. Idiots. Fucking idiots I say.

Mississippi wasn't my cup of tea. I'm sure Jackson would have been better than Columbus, but there was nothing to do in Columbus. The restaurants weren't that great and the shopping was terrible.

On the positive side the people were very nice and friendly.

I'm living in VA now and I like it much better here.

I've never had any problems with getting things done at the DMV, but I hate going there. I don't know what it is, but when I'm at the DMV, I attract the strangest people and they always try to talk to me and they make me nervous. The end.

i went through all that shit and finally got my license.
then about 7-8 months went by and i got a speeding ticket, and lo & behold my new license wasn't valid in this state.
I go to the dmv for the 5 to sixth time over getting this one license, and come to find out they didn't turn in my old license to the other state I lived in making my new current one invalid.
But supposedly its all fine now.

D'oh! That's right! I need to get a new license since I moved just not too long ago. I keep forgetting!

the gov. in this country has alot of red tape...same thing with the immigration dept! that was a nightmare!

WTF do we live in the 1800's where letters have to be handwritten to count? It's the same here when you're getting ID but you have to get somebody to vouch for you, to say you are who you say you are. Even if you bring your old ID when you renew it they don't accept it. WTF, what if you don't have any relatives?
