The Official NBA Thread

It's that time of the year. It's time to get your basketball jones on!

Who is you favorite team so far this season?

In the west, The Lakers are off to a dismal start without Shaq. Can they rebound when the big man returns for a 4-peat?

Will the Kings finally play like the champions they are?

or will Karl Malone and John Stockton finally get their championship ring for the Jazz before they breakout the rocking chairs?

In the East, will the Nets prove that they are more than a Cinderella team?

will the Magic find it in Orlando with a healthy Grant Hill and Tracey McGrady?

or will the Wizards rally around the leadership of Michael Jordan AND Patrick Ewing to be a surprise force?

What is your take on the season so far? Who do you think will be the two team left standing in the end?

I am a huge Blazers fan- they aren't looking too good right now at 2-3. I think the issue is mostly maintaining interest and overlooking teams. They got spanked by Denver at home! However, I think they'll turn around and finish 5th or better in the West.

Seattle is looking really good so far! They are my third favorite team, so I am quite pleased. Payton is as brilliant as ever and having unloaded Vin Baker opens up a lot of opportunities for this team.

Utah, however, seems to have finally have age be a big factor. Is their 19-year playoff run in jeapordy? Yes- especially in the West.

In the East, New Jersey, Indiana, Detroit, Philadelphia and New Orleans are all potential conferene champions. Boston seems to have slipped some and Orlando and Washington could make things interesting if healthy.

for the record, i am not a lakers fan nana

last year, i :wOOt: for the nets and the kings disbelief

i don't know who i'm going to be behind this season, though i've always secretly liked the timberwolves.

and, of course, i have to stand by my man and :wOOt: for the 76ers.

Don't forget the Bucks. Two seasons ago they were a jumper away from the finals. Last season they were ravished by injuries, but if they stay healthy they have as much talent as anyone in the East.

I think the top teams in the East are Orlando, New Jersey, Boston, and Milwaukee. I would be kind of surprised if the 76ers were to make the play-offs.

Quit hating and treat the LAKERS like the big dads they are.

If you will notice this mini-thread was about the EASTERN conference. So what I'm saying is there is no hating going on. The Lakers will probably win the West, but I don't think anyone should overlook Sacramento.

There is a basketball team in Memphis? No, that doesn't sound right wink I think they need at least one win to prove to me that they are a pro-basketball team. lol

You're man only had 6 points on 2-7 shooting last night. OUCH! It's a good thing he's so hot wink because he isn't much of a player.

Oh don't cry Rhonda you know I still love you even if your choice in NBA teams and players is poor. wink

Diehard Chicago Bulls fan: They win one now and then they had a good game last week. It's just not the same without MJ(Micheal Jordan). But I still watch.

The Bucks lost a very close battle, but I feel we were victim of a few very questionable calls and Toni Kukoc was ejected so I don't feel all that bad. But we have now lost 7 straight to the T-Wolves so I have absolutely no bragging rights.

The best part is with the NBA losing so many fans (has everyone noticed the empty arena's this season?) we easily bought $85 seats on the street for $30. Probably could have gotten them cheaper, but I didn't feel like haggling.

You better get your laughing in NOW because the Lakers have been playing without 2 of their starters to start the season. In the end the Lakers usually have the last laugh. All this stuff wont mean alot when they get their whole team back together before this month ends.

They beat the Lakers last night in overtime by 3 points. I don't know their record or anything but I remember the game youre talking about. My memory is a little fuzzy but I think the Celtics scored 69 points in that game, when they lost.

As Shaq would Say it's all about the 4 Peat baby. The Lakers&Kings&Everybody else IMHO.The Nets are in the Wrong time period IMHO.in another Era they might Win back, back Titles.the Magic are looking Good T-Mac is a Badd Ass.Spurs are the only team out West I Might Worry about.the Jazz are Done.they will look good in spots but are done essentially IMHO.Wizards:only get attention because of Jordan&the Fact that Stackhouse gets too the free-throw line alot.Brown is playing Good but they are missing a Stronger Pressence on the Post&Point Guard Spots IMHO.Pistons look Good.Jordan is gonna Regret letting Reggie Miller Jr aka Richard Hamilton get away down the line IMHO.Pacers with Ron Attest keep a Eye there.Blazers are like that Band that played a while too long&had too be taken off the stage&still were trying too sing.the signs are there Done&Done&Wrong Chemistry.New Orleans keep a Eye on if they stay Healthy? Iverson is gonna be tough this Year as well needs too stay healthy for them too Roll.but for me it's Lakers,Kings&Nets&keep a eye on New Orleans,San Antonio,Orlando.Pistons&Pacers are too be watched in the East.that makes 8 Teams that should be the Playoffs Right There IMHO.forget about 20 of those Teams now.
