Need to gain weight

What are some simple ways to gain weight...I tried cytogainer, but it didn't work. Now I'm thinking of adding lots of butter and salt to my food. Is this a bad idea? I'm desperate. Maybe I can drink or pour a little bit of cooking oil on my food. neutral

I needed to put on some weight a few years back. I ate a bit of ice cream every night, it definitely worked!

Also meat & fatty foods like avocado & nuts.

For some reason vegetarian proteins like beans didn't work as well as meat & dairy. I guess there's more fat in meat than beans.

eat lots of carb with low GI like white bread and pasta.. protein is also good (lamb is a good one because it is fatty).
Or get onto energy bars and drinks...
ofcourse macdonalds works too, but not very healthy

P>S> salt isn't going to make you put on weight

(saltanas and nuts and honey are also high energy and natural sources for sugar and fats)

Why are you trying to gain weight?

Anyway, DON'T do it with increased fat intake and definitely not salt. Increased salt won't make you gain permanent weight so much as retain water (which is uncomfortable)... and it's AWFUL for your cardiovascular health!

Consider increasing your protein intake.

i'm a very hard gainer and i tried a lot of weightgainers but this is the
only one that really worked. i gained about a pound each day for as long
as i took it. it works best if you mix it with wholefat milk.

fcuz, then i also stopped smoking and i gained another 20 pounds falloff
so now i'm working on losing some weight, strange as it sounds cuz
i had a problem gaining it for 20 years lol.

seriously though ,the mammoth weightgainer is something i would def look
into if i were you. it totally rocks.

I used to have a lot of trouble gaining weight, especially during my pregnancies. Peanut butter was my friend. I'd eat spoonfuls of it in the morning before breakfast. I drank Carnation Instant Breakfast mixed with whole milk along with my meals (sometimes I'd stick it in the blender with some spoonfuls of peanut butter and a banana). I used a lot of oil and butter in my cooking, and ate ice cream after every meal. It helped, though I still was only able to gain about 20 pounds with each kid.

Eat more food, and drink your calories, but try not to load up on fats and refined sugars...even slender people can get high blood pressure and diabetes (though it is less likely)

more protein I think is probably the best way, add protein powder to smoothies, and try to eat more lean protein in addition to your diet

why are you doing this anyway??

even if you are small, its unlikely that you are underweight
If you will, so will I

Ice cream sounds like a good idea...I might buy some and eat a few cups before bed each night.

ok, thanks. I'm trying to gain weight because I feel like the only skinny person in the u.s. I only see a few skinny people. Everyone else is normal. I just want to gain 10 to 15 pounds...maybe 20.
