I'm pleased you've said that. My folks bought me that for Korea. I'm currently reading 'The Secret History' by Donna Tartt which I'm enjoying. I read 'Engleby' by Sebastian Faulks prior. Also very good.

isn't peter jackson filming it now in new zealand?

i really hope they don't destroy it.

it is a hard concept to get right on film.

beautiful book though.

I've got some good, easy and fun reading for you guys... Note: for the intellectuals, it's not Hemingway.

The last one, Breaking Dawn, is due to be released August 1st.

I'm reading the first of these, based on this recommendation (wanted something light and quick after the last couple took me so long to get through) and the fact that there was a big display of them all at Borders this week.

I'm about 200 pages in to "Twilight" and it's okay.... I'm having hard time picking it back up, though. I guess the pace/plot is picking up some, but I don't really find any of the characters that I'm supposed to very likeable. shrug Or there's actually not much character development at all. Hopefully this will turn around.

Oh, and a question. If I've watched all 7 seasons of Buffy on DVD about 15 times, do I even need to keep reading this? lol It's very Buffy, I think, and I can't help but to envision some of the characters as Buffy characters. And they're kind of lacking in comparison. My problem, of course, but I can't help it.

I cannot disagree with you more on the whole Buffy reference! Apples and Oranges! In fact I can't disagree with you more on your whole post... are you sure you're reading the correct books? lol

Oh well, to each his own... I'm diggin' them.

This book is kicking my ass - up, down, sideways and all around.

Reading it is like dropping acid, but with the side effects of a multivitamin.

If anyone feels a desire to create (art, writing, whatever) and needs a good jumping off point, I couldn't recommend this book enough to you. Plus it's very pretty - every page is a collage. drool

I'm in the process of re-reading.

Just finished.

Love this one, the 3rd in the patternmaster's series

Not so crazy about, but it was her first written book in the patternmaster series, which actually turned out to be the last book.

re-starting

The second book I read by her and it solidfied her as one of my favorite authors

I really miss her books, I feel the void. I long for the rest of the "Earthseed" series. shrug Oh well, watcha gonna do. Well, there are 2 books of her's I don't have and haven't read, I guess I better order them since for some reason they are never in stock.

I finished "The Oil and the Glory", the P&R book, read "Results that Last" by Quint Studor, and now starting "Fateful Choices: Ten Decisions That Changed The World 1940-1941" by Ian Kershaw.
Next month, Madonna's bio from her brother, is a must read.....he gets down and dirty.

I finally have time to read. The past 6 months have been busy. smile

this book is nothing short of superhyperuberfabulous to the nth degree. bow

the only thing i'm not liking about it so far is that she doesn't want us to do the writing exercises on our laptops. she wants us to do everything longhand so we can experience the words as we write them. which i have to admit is actually a really cool idea. i just hate writing longhand. barf

i think the cover of the book pretty much sums it up perfectly. i think holding on to bitterness and resentment can actually manifest in physical unwellness on down the line. things that are no good to begin with that are left to rot and fester never end up being anything that's good for you.

Hey Anx!

Yeah, I'm waiting on my friend from Michigan to see when he's coming back to MN because he really really wants to go to it with me, but he's trying to work out his vacation time yet. Did you see the film in the Omnitheater, too? I'm planning on splurging and taking that in, too. Think I should go to the exhibit in my Jedi costume? lol
