Two free video games for you - Half-Life 2, and HL2 - Episode 1 Hey all...
I'm a bit of a closet gamer, which I'm sure most of you aren't. However, some of you may have heard of a game called Half-Life 2. It was released a few years ago to universal critical acclaim, won several game of the year awards, and basically changed first person shooter games permanently. It still remains a fresh, high quality game, a one of a kind experience to this day. around 2006, a chapter was added to this game, called Episode One. It built on the original engine, updated the graphics and carried us through a compelling story. Recently, Episode 2 was released, in a package with several other games, Team Fortress 2, Portal, Half-Life 2 and the first episode. Because many people that bought this set had the first two games already, Valve, the creator of the games and one of the most respected companies in the industry, said that customers could then "gift" the games to other people. So, if you would like these games, I'd like you to send me an orgnote. I just have a few small requirements. First, you have to download their game manager, called Steam. It's a 100% free, safe and reliable service. It does not run unless you let it, there is no spyware or adware on it, it's easy to use. This program exists mainly to prevent pirated copies of games from playing. It is necessary to play any game produced by Valve. Second, you must have a decent computer. The games are a few years old, so it doesn't have to be a modern super computer, but some old piece of junk won't cut it either. I would say somewhere around a 2-3 GHZ P4 processor and about a GB of ram, with at least some kind of video card would be the minimum. If you have a duocore or a quadcore, you're fine. Oh, and PC only. No Macs. Third, I just ask that you refrain from asking for the games unless you are serious about playing them. They are great games, and I don't want them to go to waste. If you will orgnote me just because they are free, and then shut off the games after trying them for 15 minutes, that's a waste. If you are genuinely interested and excited about the opportunity, that's more the kind of person I'm looking for. To reiterate, these are the 100% complete and unedited games, completely free, and this is absolutely safe and legal. If you are wary, you can read the numerous reviews all overthe internet about them, about the promotion, about steam, and you will find that it's a high quality organization all around. You can download steam here: http://www.steampowered.c...bout&cc=CA Reviews of Half-Life 2 http://www.metacritic.com...f-Life%202 Reviews of Episode 1 http://www.metacritic.com...episodeone The orange box, which I bought, is what includes the free games http://www.theorangebox.com/ If you are interested, orgnote me with your steam user name, and your computer specs, and we will go from there.
