A Creepy Little Thing about Journals and Affirmations....

I recently found my friend's old journal full of his affirmations. Basically in the front of his journal he would write ideas he learned about, be it philosophy related, life related, or anything he wanted to remember (sometimes poems he would write) And in the back of his journal, from the last page forward, each day he would write his affirmations.

Incase you don't know what an affirmation is....
According to one source, and for the purpose of this post, "An affirmation is a positive statement designed to counteract a negative belief that you possess."

Now he said along with writing his affirmations, he would visualize what each affirmation would look like in his OWN life.

Anyways, what was creepy when I found his old affirmations from years back, they all pretty much were TRUE about him NOW. It was almost like some weird self fulfilling prophecy. I'm not trying to scare anyone, and when I say creepy in the post, I don't mean like, "Oh my gosh! FREAK OUT!" I just mean...I think it is a little eerie, that pretty much each of his affirmations that he would write and visualize every day DEFINE perfectly the person he is now.

I'd love to hear people's thoughts on this!

The mind is a powerful tool

I am not a bit surprized by your story - or his creation of his life

It happens all the time

I think what's creepy is the fact that you were reading someone else's personal writings.

Yes, I would hope it was given to him to read.

lol Just to put this out there, he openly talks about pretty much all of his limiting beliefs when asked, and he had no problems me reading it. I wasn't like all sketchy about it.
