You know, that's a real good idea. Gotta try that. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Lawd, I started drinking lots of water and STOPPED drinking soda cause I was used to drink like 2l of soda a day Oy...I used to be that bad with soda At one point, I could go thru a 12 pack in like 2 days or so I've started drinking a LOT more water. I dunno exactly HOW much, but I drink at least 3 or 4 glasses per night at work. At home I drink a lot of OJ and water. I sometimes have a cherry pepsi or whatever every once in a while as a kind of "treat", or if I am having something Italian. I dunno what it is, but there is something about pepsi that just makes it go awesomely with Italian food. . [Edited 6/10/08 1:56am] Cherry Pepsi It is good to give yourself a treat once in awhile. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Actually we have great tap water where we live,
so when I'm at home, I'm usually carrying a glassful around with me, and when I'm not home I carry a water bottle with me from our tap. My understanding though is that we don't really need to drink a full 8-8oz glasses a day like they used to recommend. Apparently we get enough from all the other things we drink and eat to make up for it.

Since I gave up soda I drink a lot more water.By doing that I notice my feet don't hurt as much from standing all day. It isn't the load that breaks us down, it's the way we carry it.

Diabetes runs in my family (on my dad's side) and at 45 years of age, I don't want to wind up getting it. Diabetes is a nasty disease, and I have seen it do bad things to very good people.
The water tastes good and is good for me, and I enjoy drinking it. The only thing I dislike about it is that it does a number of my kidneys (lots of bathroom trips). But people have told me that after awhile, my body will get used to it, and I won't need to make as many trips (praying for that day to arrive). So far, I've drank about 3.0 liters of water. I think I'm done for today. How much water do you normally drink? And are those flavored waters that I see advertised any good? I've thought about trying those, when I get sick of just the plain old water. I start my day with about 32oz of tap water. Every day. Throughout the day I drink as needed and I try not to keep soda in the house. I will drink it away from home but I am not(or rarely) going to go to the store because I just have to have a soda as opposed to something else to drink. The bathroom trips will stop. lol It was put to me this way - You take a shower each morning to clean your skin, drink water each morning to clean your insides. I've been doing it for over 10 years now. Definitely a habit. I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

That's good. I have a problem with regular milk, it bothers my stomach. But now I see they have something on the market called Lactaid, which is supposed to be good for people with lactose intolerance. Gotta try it. I drink the lactaid milk. Great stuff. No problems with drinking it plain or with cereal. Also goat milk is good and doesn't give me lactose intolerance issues. Some people claim not to like the taste but I like it. I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.
