today i drank two ENORMO sized bottles of water, and i smoked ZERO cigarettes! biggrin

of course, i've had fairly serious stomach problems all weekend, so it's not exactly like i've had tons of choice in the matter. pout

Sorry to hear about your stomach problems, that's not good. comfort

thanks, i hope my belly gets over itself soon. ill

i actually had an idea today about quitting smoking and replacing it with drinking bottled water.

i mean, i have more of a "handling" addiction than a chemical addiction, so the bottle and the lid would replace the lighter and the smokes; there's obviously a release for any oral fixation that has been satisfied by smoking; and most importantly, the people who are likely to give me the hardest time about smoking will be just as upset by my drinking bottled water, since bottled water is supposed to be so miserably bad for the environment (hey - i recycle 'em!). so i can take better care of myself while at the same time still pissing off the same people i irritated when i was a smoker. i think it's a fabulous idea.

giggle Drinking bottled water instead of smoking is a good idea. But I know, talking to people who smoke/used to smoke, that it's not always easy.

I really need to get back in the habit of drinking water. The tap water where I work is fantastic! My water at home tastes horrid though.

I just bought a new reusable sports type bottle today to motivate myself. . .

I drink a lot of fluids. I mean a LOT. Sometimes I go in phases where it's water. Sometimes it's diet coke. Sometimes it's green tea.

Actually, I've been told that drinking almost any fluids, be it juice, soda, tea, milk, etc., is going to give you the same thing you're getting out of water. It's just all of the other stuff in it that is an addition benefit or harm.

I drink 64 ounces (8 cups) a day. I try to drink it all during mid-day, in a two hour period, so I'm not running to the bathroom all night. I also drink some additional sugar-free, non-soda, low-caloric drinks

Oy...I used to be that bad with soda disbelief At one point, I could go thru a 12 pack in like 2 days or so eek

I've started drinking a LOT more water. I dunno exactly HOW much, but I drink at least 3 or 4 glasses per night at work. At home I drink a lot of OJ and water. I sometimes have a cherry pepsi or whatever every once in a while as a kind of "treat", or if I am having something Italian. I dunno what it is, but there is something about pepsi that just makes it go awesomely with Italian food.

I have to drink at least a litre a day or I feel dizzy or get a headache.

It makes you feel fantastic though, makes your skin look fresh, helps with dark circles under your eyes and just generally improves your health biggrin

Depending where you live, the tap water can be nasty. nod The tap water here in the late summer gets a funny taste to it from the algae that grows in Lake Erie, where it comes from. Buying a sports drinking bottle is a good idea. I've been meaning to buy one of those sports drinking bottles that has a belt that you can put the bottle in when you're working out, walking, etc.

I've heard of dairy products affecting your sinuses. It's strange how that can happen. I wonder why that is? hmmm

I really need to start drinking more milk. I have to try that Lactaid, see if I can tolerate it, without it affecting my stomach.
