Does anyone like their mother in law? Lord knows I can't stand mine. She's always yammering about how I treat my mom differently and better than her (duh), how I don't talk to her and confide in her (why would I?) and how she feels she has lost her son (he's not a possession. Get a life.) | |

I love mine inspite of herself and I am very good to her. The drama is between her and her son, I don't let it extend to me and my girls.

I always got along with my Mother-in-law Eva. She was always supportive and we never had any problems up to the day she passed away.
And my wife always got along with my Mom until the day she passed away. God bless both their souls. I guess I was very fortunate in that respect. "Always blessings, never losses......"

I love my mother in law, but I can't say I too much like her in anything but relatively small doses. I don't feel too unreasonable in saying that -- no one else does either.
God bless her, though. It's not that she's trying to be supernaturally annoying. (I suspect she actually tries to be a positive, contributing person... in her own strange way. And sometimes she's pretty fun to be around.) But I think she's dealt with things in life that have made her virtually intolerable most times. [Edited 6/6/08 20:04pm] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

My ex MIL was a very controlling person. There are things I like about her but she was tough to be around.
My fiance's mother is a very sweet person and we get along really well but I guess it doesn't hurt that she lives in Vancouver. "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind"-Dr Seuss

Maybe it helped that my Mother-in-law lived 1,600 miles away in another country In all honesty, my Mother-in-law was great. "Always blessings, never losses......"
