Still 9 unidentified dead bodies in Washington

The Washington Post has reported last week that the FBI still holds nine unidentified dead bodies from the plane crash into the Pentagon. I am still wondering why nobody is claiming them. The bodies of the terrorists on board have long been identified according to government sources. So who are those nine people? I am simply asking a question, so dont smell conspiracy again, peoples wink
Interesting too is that the FBI says that the black box of that plane got destroyed in the crash. I find that very strange as well, because according to experts the crash is considered a "normal" crash in terms of effects of destruction, heat, temperature. So its very weird that Computers of the Pentagon survived, but a specially designed black box has not? And even if it did get burned completely, which I consider very unlikely, for that case every plane holds TWO black boxes... what happend to that second one?
Is none of you guys curious what really happend on that flight? And why the plane was alllowed to fly directly towards Washington for almost an hour after the hits at the WTC and no fighter plane went in the air to stop it? Why did they allow the hijacked Boeing to even make a turn over Washington so it could hit the Pentagon in the right angle?
For a nation with such high security I find that very strange that they didnt stop a hijacked passenger plane aiming to fly and explode right in the heart of the nation.

One of the problems that I have with your line of reasoning these last few weeks is well exemplified in this post and in this section in particular.

Are you suggesting that as a nation we were not nearly cynical or paranoid enough prior to 9-11 in order for such protective measures to be enacted? And that we should have been more so? Is this some nostalgia for a European (or Russian) brand of totalitarianism?

There is this odd undertone to your arguments these last few weeks in which you blame the US for not being repressive enough before 9-11, and for being too repressive afterwards. And at the same time you fail to recognize the significant historical differences between those two times.

What is it that you want except an ocassion to gain some moral highground?

Seriously.

Ummm, why would someone claim an unidentified body? There has got to be a law against that!

Well, they could be just about anybody. Being that the US doesn't require its residents to carry internal passports, it is no surprise that maybe their remains will never be identified.

And I wouldn't, by extension, see the freedom to travel without documents as evidence of a repressive government. Sure it's inconvenient when these people are killed by terrorists. Where do we send flowers to?.

Actually I believe if I chartered a plane to fly over the pentagon, I would have been forced by flight control to leave that highly restricted area, and if I refused, fighter planes would be up in 8 minutes to support that demand. That is not a lack of paranoia, even in Germany the air space over governmental bulidings is restricted. And fact is the pentagon airspace has always been restricted. So I ont think you can blame that on a lack of paranoia.

Well, serioulsy: I am not blaming the US for not being repressive enough. But for a country that is investing so much money in national security, I consider it more than a coincidence or accident that they wouldnt care about a hijacked plane over the pentagon after two targets have been previously hit. Fact is, NOTHING happened to take that plane down, to at least send fighter planes in the air. NOTHING happened. I am sorry, but you really cant find an excuse for that.
And yes, I believe that the US are being too repressive afterwords. Because when you go hunt terrorists, you dont start a war the other side of the world. Examples: Spain. ETA. Spain is at war with ETA since 30 years almost. They know ETA is hiding in the viallges in the bask mountains. Do the bomb those villages? No. They use their police intelligence to get the terrorists.
Another example: Germany 1972-1977. My country was at war against terrorists of the RAF (Red Army Fraction). They had obvious ties to terrorist in Palestine, they were even trained in their camps and in Libanon. Did Germany send bombers to go to war to Palestine? No.
Because you have a police force and a secret service to catch terrorists.

I am sorry, maybe I chose the wrong term when I said "claim". I was trying to ask this: If those dead people are NOT the terrorist on board of that plane, who were they? I dont think that any illegal immigrants were working in the highly secured Pentagon. Do you?

I didnt say anything about documents at all. But obviously those nine victims must have been US citizens or legal residents associated with the Pentagon (if not, they would not have been there, right?). Why are they still being kept? Why are they not burried? What about their relatives? Do you get my point now?

Where do we send flowers to?.
