And yeah, the majority of the people who voted apparently disagree with me. I think they are not, in fact, the intellectual majority. And I think they are wrong.

I have a fairly good brain in my head and I didn't vote Democrat.

...

But... I do agree that Bush's aggressive stance will probably piss a lot of people off and will possibly make other countries angry with us too. This is a very real possibility.

I agree, you do have a fairly good brain in your head.

I am making an assumption. I'm assuming you didn't vote for Gore or Bush. I assume you voted for Nader, or voted for somebody else but shared the reasoning of the Nader voters that we should vote for the candidate we actually want in office or none at all?

I still disagree with that position. We KNEW, as a matter of empirical fact, that Bush or Gore was going to be the president, and we KNEW that it was going to be close. Same thing in this election cycle; we knew it was going to be close, and that we were risking ending up with a government completely controlled by Republicans. Voting for the Democrats was a lesser-evil vote in both cases.

I think the lesser-evil was a MUCH-lesser-evil, which may be where we disagree. I think it's ok to vote for a much-lesser-evil. I think it makes a difference.

Am I damn idealist fool? I don't think so. I think I'm pragmatic.

Doves,
Mel!ssa

I never bought that "I didn't know who I was voting for" bullshit... if you can't fucking read and follow directions, you shouldn't be allowed to vote.
